章節 14: Odin's announcement
On return to Asgard from his visit to Nidavellir, he was informed by a guard that father has summoned him. He knew that he must have wanted to ask about his weapon. after all, creation of a new artifact is not a small matter for Asgard. So he nodded and went to the palace.
On entering, he saw father sitting on the throne alongside with his mother. Thor and Loki had also return and were present. All the important people of Asgard were present including Traus, Sif, Hemidell and other ministers.
Before he could say anything, Thor immediately put his arms around his shoulders,
"Look here comes my little brother. You seen to have grown really well. Let's fight next time together."
He was really helpless because of Thor's reckless behaviour, but he was used to it. So he ignored him and saluted father and mother.
" My son, show the weapon which you got from Nidavellir." said Odin.
Swain nodded and and summoned his Trident. The moment the Golden Trident appeared, the hall become silent and after that it was noisy all of a sudden. All Asgardians have divine power in their bodies even if it is low, but they could still feel the specialness of the weapon in front of them. It looked majestic and noble.
Looking at the weapon in front of him, Odin just kept staring at it for a while and then he said to Swim :
" My Son, You have got yourself a worthy and a powerful weapon. So use it properly."
If ordinary Asgardians can feel the specialness of the weapon, then as the King of Gods, How could he not feel it. The most special feature about the weapon which he discovered is that, this is the weapon of a ruler. So again he said:
" As you all can see that the youngest Prince has made an extraordinary contribution in maintaining the stability and safety of Nine realms. So I would like to make him one of the heirs for the Throne of Asgard."
Immediately there was a sound of the people voices and all of them were surprised by the announcement because the only heirs for the throne previously were Prince Thor and Loki, as there is not much of a age gap between them. Otherwise usually the eldest one inherits the throne, but now King Odin is making even his youngest son an heir which is against the usual traditions of Asgard.
At this announcement, even Thor and Loki could not sit still and kept looking at father with questioning eyes, but no one asked for an explanation. After all In Asgard, Odin's words are the final decree. There were many voices of the dissatisfaction, but no one raised the question.
At this moment, Swain who was quiet spoke :
"Father, if there is your permission, then and I would like to say something."
Lookeding at him, Odin responded: "Okay you can talk."
After getting Father's permission, Swain spoke: "Father there is no intention of mine of disrespecting you, but I have no interest in fighting for the throne of Asgard."
As the voice fell, the whole crowd turned silent, Swain continued : "Instead of it, I would like for you to make me the king of Vanaheim, as it will cause no sort of competition with my brothers and I think, It matches the status of my divine power."
Swain really had no intention of fighting for the throne of Asgard and he also didn't have much interest in it. Instead he wanted to get Vanaheim more, not only because it matches his divine power but also because he has special plans for it, but he didn't talk about it now.
