Elvira slipped into a neat, off-shoulder, eggshell white dress and dabbed red rouge on her lips and cheeks. Next, she pulled a pearl pendant from a velvet box and put it around her neck.

She admired her reflection in the mirror and did a little twirl in her puffy skirt. Wivior's arrival was in the offing, and she wanted to look flawless to greet him.

Elvira stood on the tower's balcony, waiting for her man to appear. Her eyes looked down at the little huts surrounding it. It was a decent human town on green hills with small waterfalls.

Life was good there. After the war, they had chosen it to be their first home together. They had a spacious, tall tower all to themselves. There was a lot of privacy, and the neighbors were amiable, too.

Elvira could freely use her magic close to humans without fearing energy detection. Furthermore, the town had no instances of witchcraft. No witch and warlock had been spotted there for decades.
