Elvira lowered Charlotte's body on a bed. The spirit was lighter than a blanket. It was heartbreaking to do that to a friend. The spirit's pale body turned into an icy blue tone, and her skin looked more lifeless than usual.

Their friendship was practically over because Charlotte would never let it go. Elvira wanted to cry her eyes out. A loud whimpering gasp came out of her throat, and she instantly covered her mouth. There could be people outside that door listening to all that.

With a heavy heart, she emptied her spell bowl's contents out the window and exited the room.

As she moved down the hallway, a warlock stared down at her on the way. He didn't say anything, but she was spotted. The crippling fear of consequences for helping an enemy escape made her legs wobbly. She stopped to rest behind a pillar and panted.
