5.33% Making Honkai Impact III in the world where Kallen exists / Chapter 18: Aftermath of PV

章節 18: Aftermath of PV

As the video was released, the number of plays climbed at a terrifying rate.

For the people of this world, games were only entertainment in nature, and rarely had such intricate plots, and from the content of the PVs alone, the characters in them were drawn very nicely.

Just when the world could only play some Homu games and mecha battles, the sudden appearance of games focusing on beautiful girls attracted the attention of many people.

And there are more reasons than just that...

The official Schicksal made a big deal out of this video, bringing up the welfare benefits of its Mihoyo company again and again, and making a high-profile announcement that it was recruiting talents to make the game for the whole world.

At the same time, the entire platform promoted the game's work. Similar advertisements appeared on all major platforms of Schicksal, whether it was shopping, videos or novels.

"A cross-generation action handheld game! Ignite the soul of ACG action!"

"Beautiful girls, mecha, and youthful campuses, let's fight for all the beauty in the world!"

"Tech otakus save the world!"

...

Luo Mo could practically taste the success. With Schicksal's backing and everyone jumping on board, Honkai Impact 3rd was going to be huge.

It was funny how the game was being called the first "cross-generation action handheld game." Back in Luo Mo's old life, that slogan stuck around for years after the game came out. No one seemed to question it, even though it didn't quite make sense. It was proof that if you keep saying something, people will believe it.

But it wasn't just the fans who were caught up in the hype. Even Anti-Entropy, a rival company, showed interest in the video and wanted to meet the people behind it. The media was all over it, eager to break the story.

This kind of attention was rare for a game that hadn't even been released yet. It was a evidence to the power of marketing and the potential of Honkai Impact 3rd to change the gaming landscape.

The media smelled the rumor and broke the news.

[Anti Entropy Games Limited wants to have relevant cooperation with Mihoyo Company, and talks with the boss in person!]

The news of Anti Entropy Games Limited seeking a partnership with Mihoyo Company and meeting with its boss personally leaked to the media and caused a sensation.

Meanwhile, in the shady mercenary channels of the dark web, the reward for obtaining reliable information about Mihoyo's boss was rising steadily.

For those who weren't into gaming, this whole thing might have seemed like a lot of fuss over nothing. After all, the game was popular, sure, but it wasn't like everyone knew about it yet. And how long would it stay hot? Maybe a year and a half, tops?

But as more and more people watched the game's trailer over and over, debating every little detail, they couldn't help but wonder. What was this game all about? Who were the people behind it?

Just when everyone thought the hype couldn't get any bigger, Mihoyo dropped another bombshell: the game's official website was live, and it was launching in just three days!

People were floored. Normally, there's a long wait between a game's announcement and its release, usually months. But Honkai Impact 3rd was ready to go in the blink of an eye. How could they pull that off?

Even the media, who were usually in the know, were scratching their heads. They'd been so busy planning interviews and crafting questions for Mihoyo's boss, they hadn't expected this sudden announcement.

Some in the media thought Mihoyo was making a mistake. "They're rushing it! Why the hurry? Are they worried the hype will die down? This will tank their profits!" they grumbled.

But despite their complaints, the media knew they had to act fast. The game was launching soon, and they couldn't miss out on the chance to cover it.

The countdown had begun. Three days until Honkai Impact 3rd changed the game.

Meanwhile, the boss of Mihoyo, Luo Mou, who was anxious to release the game, sneezed. His game was progressing steadily, unlike others.

He said he didn't care about money, what a joke.

But his goal was not to make money. Maybe he could get more players to spend money if he delayed the game a bit, but what he needed was system currency!

Could money buy crystals? Or could it defeat Honkai? If money can defeat the Honkai, then wouldn't the money printing machine be the biggest contributor!

He wanted more people to read this story, learn something, gain something, and be touched by it. That was what a real game producer should do.

No need to thank him, just thank the hardworking writers!

Luo Mo was a businessman at heart. He knew that releasing the game sooner rather than later would score him some major points with Schicksal. More support from them meant more Valkyries, powerful fighters who could help him on his mission. That would boost his rating with the system, something he needed to survive.

He was building a win-win situation for himself and the game. He couldn't afford to drag his feet in this dangerous Honkai world.

That's why he'd put out the video as soon as it was ready, and he was already running beta tests. The only things left to do were add more content and finalize the card drawing and promotional events with the tech team. If it weren't for those details, he would have launched the game the very next day.

Meanwhile, the public was going wild. The video had barely sunk in before they got hit with even more exciting news.

"Did you hear?" Two guys were chatting excitedly.

"I heard, I heard. I can't believe this game from Schicksal is coming out so soon! And the beautiful girls, ahem, I mean mechs, are exactly what I want."

"I wonder how good the graphics will be in the actual game."

"Who cares? Let's check out the website!"

They raced to the official website, fingers flying, and clicked on the homepage. A massive silver battleship seemed to leap off the screen, dominating the page. It was called hyperion, and its gleaming metal looked futuristic, almost unreal.

The deck was so polished that it could reflect their faces. They believed that if such a ship existed in reality, it would be every man's dream ship.

"Dude! I love this game already, just for this battleship!" One of them exclaimed, reaching out to touch the screen as if he could grab the ship and make it his own.

They finally managed to tear their eyes away from the ship and scrolled down. There, they found a pre-registration button, and right next to it, a young girl with white pigtails holding two guns.

She wore a playful grin and a sleek white outfit that fit her like a glove, with a few cat-like touches that made her look both tough and adorable.

Beside her was a slogan that stuck in their minds: "Fight for everything good in the world!"

They hit the pre-registration button without hesitation. A progress bar popped up, showing cool rewards they could unlock if enough people signed up. It was like a challenge, and everyone who pre-registered would get the loot: (100w = 100,000 sign-ups)

100w: 100 crystals

200w: 200 crystals + 10 supply cards

500w: 500 crystals + B-rank Valkyrie - Battlefield Gale

1000w: 1000 crystals + S-rank Valkyrie selector

One of the B-rank Valkyries looked like a graceful older sister, while the selector showed four different options to choose from.

But since the game wasn't out yet, they didn't know exactly who these characters were or what they could do. It was all part of the mystery.

On the side of the official website, there was also a navigation bar that displayed the Valkyrie characters that were available in the game. Currently, there was only one character that was revealed, and it was Kiana, the armor that helped everyone through their beginner stages - the Field Suit - White Comet.

The rest of the characters were just black silhouettes.

They tapped on Kiana's picture and watched a demo of her moves in action. The caption underneath read, "(Everything you see here is from the actual game!)"

With all the news and videos coming from the official website, people online were going crazy, talking non-stop about the game.

"Some people are still sceptical about the game's quality. They wonder if it's just a hoax or a scam." one person posted online.

But someone else quickly shot back, "Are you serious? This is Schicksal we're talking about, not some no-name company. And they're going all-out with this, not just some small ad campaign. Schicksal wouldn't risk their name for a game that wasn't amazing."

Schicksal Group was the largest conglomerate in the world, with its businesses spanning across various fields, such as medicine, electronics, manufacturing, and more. It was even said that some countries' defense, weapons, and armaments depended on Schicksal's supplies. Its power and influence were unmatched.

If it was just a subsidiary of Schicksal, it might not mean much.

But this time was different. It was Schicksal's main branch that initiated the project and mobilized all its resources to support it. This caused a huge sensation in the world.

The rumour mill was buzzing, and the most likely story was that Schicksal was feeling the heat from Anti-Entropy Entertainment, a rising star in the gaming world. So, they decided to throw a ton of money into a game that would blow everyone away and knock Anti-Entropy off its throne.

After all, these two companies had been rivals for ages. Anti-Entropy, based in North America, was gaining serious ground in some places, even giving Schicksal a run for its money.

It was rumored to have split from Schicksal, but it had managed to compete with Schicksal in some aspects.

Especially in terms of gaming, Schicksal was losing its edge, while Anti Entropy was leading the trend.

So, it made sense that Schicksal would want to make a huge splash with this new game.

But while some people were busy arguing about the game's backstory, most were just blown away by how amazing it looked.
