Floating in the air, Shinshiki sidestepped an incoming sword slash, finding himself in a confrontation with some enhanced humans.
His presence seemed to have caught them off guard, as they trembled with anger, especially one individual.
"YOU! You wretched demon! Prepare to die!" Shouted a human with white hair and scars covering his body as he lunged at Shinshiki.
He wore a white jacket with baggy pants and unfamiliar sandals. The jacket was open, exposing his chest, and he wielded a green sword adorned with markings along the blade.
These humans possessed considerable power compared to the average human. But for him who swatted away Kage level shinobi, who had even greater physiques, largely due to their chakra, they were insignificant bugs.
His Juubi had gone on a rampage for the last three days, devouring all the life from the forest.
He also encountered some unsightly creatures who referred to themselves as demons, whom he killed off with just a slash of his black chakra reciever rod sword.
Due to the Juubi's destruction of the forest, it had caused a commotion, and it seemed that the inhabitants of this world had dispatched these inferior creatures in front of him to investigate the area.
It seemed to him that the inferior creatures that referred to themselves as "demons" could not go out in the sun or they would be burned.
And these bugs in front of him dared to call him a demon? He, who is an Otsutsuki?
"Fine, I shall play with you!"
Stretching his hand in front of him, a black chakra receiver rod materialized in his hand, which was the size of a staff.
He twirled it around to familiarize himself with it, all the while continuously dodging and evading strikes from the two swordsmen.
One of them had medium-length messy black hair, tied back into a low ponytail. Sharp dark-blue eyes, thin eyebrows, and a perpetually serious expression on his face, he also wore a mismatched haori.
Seeing the white-pale horned "demon" in front of them, they realized that the sun would rise soon, but they could already tell that this demon was abnormally powerful compared to any they had ever encountered.
"You bastard, don't screw this up!" screamed the white-haired creature as he assumed a sword-style stance.
"Wind Breathing First Form : Dust Whirlwind Cutter!" He moved and slashed continuously in front of him, causing the dust around them to rise.
However, Shinshiki had already moved behind him with his staff raised. He brought his staff down as the wind around it seemed to avoid it.
The white-haired creature tried to block it, but his sword broke, and he fell to the ground sideways. Before he could even react, Shinshiki brought his leg backward and kicked him in the stomach, sending him flying into a tree.
This all happened before the black-haired creature could react, but he could tell that his companion's bones were broken, all in a single strike.
"Water Breathing Tenth Form: Constant Flux," he calmly but seriously said before he moved with explosive speed.
Shinshiki decided to play around for a bit as he dodged and evaded. He could tell that this move becomes more powerful with the speed and momentum the user generates through movement.
Seeing through the move, he disappeared and immediately appeared in front of the black-haired creature, slashing his staff sideways to block the sword. The clash resulted in the sword being broken.
Thrown off track, the black-haired creature's movements staggered, and he tried to move back, but Shinshiki was already there, with his leg raised, and he kicked him like he did with the white-haired creature.
Sending him flying, the black-haired creature was dragged across the ground by the momentum, which resulted in scratches and injuries appearing on his body, in addition to his broken bones.
"This is all you have? Weaklings!" He smirked in victory, realizing that the humans of this world were even weaker than average shinobi.
They possessed only speed and slightly enhanced physical abilities, but without chakra, they were nothing in comparison.
Even if they had chakra, they would still be weaker than the likes of Konoha Jonins. He couldn't believe his eyes that there were creatures weaker than those shinobi in this world.
Pointing his palm at both of them, he lifted them up with his Deva path and raised them into the air. The sun had already started to shine on their bodies, and when they saw the "demon" surviving in the sun, the fear in their eyes increased.
He raised them up to the Juubi, who was now raging toward them because an Otsutsuki was present—him, of course—He let them fall into its open mouth.
The Juubi allowed it to happen, and the humans were petrified as they witnessed the beast, which appeared like a natural disaster given form.
He didn't release them without extracting some information. Using his Rinnegan to delve into their memories while they fell, he witnessed gruesome scenes in both of their recollections.
It appeared that these "demons," as the humans referred to them, were an evolving species. However, they seemed to have a specific limit to their progression through the consumption of humans, or, in other words, genetic information.
"Heh, so they are the only ones with this regeneration ability. It would grant me immortality, not only in age but in body as well. Hehehe," he chuckled, envisioning the possibilities of an endlessly regenerating body.
As they plummeted into the bottomless pit of the Juubi's mouth, the beast sealed its maw shut, consuming and absorbing the genetic information from the humans. Its eye's tomoe briefly glowed before dimming.
It appeared that these particular humans, known as the "Hashira" and considered the strongest among the demon slayers, would provide a satisfying feast for the Juubi.
"So you like them, huh? Then I shall provide my dear Juubi with its own feast!" He exclaimed as he soared into the sky, sensing the strongest presence on this planet, other than his own.
This powerful presence would be considered the lowest of the low in the Otsutsuki clan, and he intended to deliver this presence to the Juubi for it to devour.
