Janet's POV 

As the guards were leading us to the house of my supposed parents, my heart kept pounding heavily.

I just didn't know what I was feeling. There was one part of me that was excited because I was finally going to meet my real parents, but there was this other side that was angry because I was finally going to meet the same people that had abandoned me since I was a baby.

As these thoughts were running through my mind, I was jerked back to reality by the tapping of Leroy.

"Are you okay?" Leroy asked me once I jerked back to reality.

Yes, why do you ask?" I asked him.

"Actually, I have been talking to you for all these years, but it seems like you weren't listening to me," he said to me with a worried tone.

"Sorry about that; I was actually thinking about something; so what were you talking to me about?" I asked him.
