Tyler's POV
As I said earlier, every werewolf has the ability to detect when someone is lying or saying the truth, and last night when I asked her who she was and why she ran away from her pack, all the answers she gave me were true except for the reason she ran away from her pack.
When I sensed that she was lying, I wanted to stick to my words by banning her from my pack unless she told me the truth, but my conscience wouldn't allow me.
"I couldn't ban her from my pack because she had no where to go, and I couldn't also keep a stranger in my pack because I might be endangering the lives of my subjects by doing so.
I was still thinking of allowing her to stay in the meantime while I did some investigations on her to know why she ran away from her pack, but to my greatest surprise, she informed me that she was related to Leroy, who is my best friend and the most trusted person in the Moonstone Pack.
Once she informed me about it, I immediately brushed away the thoughts of investigating her, but here she is confessing to me that she ran away from her pack because she murdered the Alpha.
Only if she knows the consequences of what she did and what will befall me if I allow her to stay in my pack.
But what I still don't understand is what pushed her to kill the Alpha of her pack, because I'm sure that she didn't just wake up one day and decide to go and kill the Alpha; something made her do it, and that's what I'm going to discover before deciding what to do with her.
"Why did you do it? Who asked you to do it?" I asked her; the anger in my eyes was so evident that even someone standing far from us could clearly see it.
Instead of answering me, she bent her head and started sobbing, which got me infuriated even more because people who mostly cry in such situations are guilty, and when they are caught red-handed, they start shedding crocodile tears in order to make everyone believe that they are innocent.
Well, that may work on some people, but not on me because, as the Alpha of a pack, I have seen many things, and this won't be my first time witnessing situations like this.
"Will you answer me and spare me the crocodile tears, or do you think that your crocodile tears are going to have any effect on me?" I asked her, my voice filled with rage and anger.
"He executed my foster parents," she said to me while peering into my eyeballs.
"What!" I exclaimed immediately in surprise.
"He did what?" I asked her again in order to ensure that my ears weren't playing games on me.
"You heard me right; he killed my foster parents, him and his son," she repeated once again, her voice filled with anger. The rage in her eyes was visible despite the fact that she was sobbing.
"What offense did they commit?" I asked her because I knew that the only offense that had execution as punishment was murder and nothing else.
"Offense?" She paused in order to wipe away the tears that were streaming down her face.
"The only offense that my mother committed was confronting the Alpha because his son rejected me as his mate," she said to me.
"Is defending her daughter enough reason for being executed? Is that a valid reason for leaving a dungeon to die of starvation after executing my parents? She asked me angrily while peering into my eyeballs.
"No," I replied brusquely. "That's not a valid reason for executing your parents," I said to her with a calm tone.
I have heard many things about the atrocities of the Alpha of Oz pack and his son, but I never imagined that it was this serious. I thought that it was the enemies of the Alpha who were busy spreading fake news about him.
If only I knew that this was what she had gone through, I wouldn't have treated her in an unfriendly manner right from the first day I met her.
"Janet I'm so sorry; I never knew that you went through all these pains."I said this to her while approaching her, but she remained silent while sobbing.
"I'm so sorry," I said to her again when I approached her, and with that, I bent down and helped her clean up the tears streaming down her cheeks.
"No need to cry; you can stay in my pack as long as you wish, and no one is going to hurt you again," I said to her reassuringly while cleaning the tears streaming down her face.
"I will also help you find your real parents," I said to her reassuringly.
"You mean you aren't going to ban me from your pack after what I did?" She asked me with a teary tone.
"No, of course, I will never do that, and I won't allow the Alpha of Oz pack to harm you again; it's a promise," I said to her reassuringly. "As I said, I will also help you find your real parents," I said to her reassuringly.
"Really?" She asked me, and I nodded positively.
"Thank you," she said to me excitedly, and before I could reply, she hugged me tightly, and immediately I felt cold shivers down my spine.
"Why do I always have to feel like this anytime we are too close?" I questioned myself inwardly.
After some minutes, we disengaged from the hug, and immediately our eyes met. It seemed as if everything paused as a silent atmosphere engulfed the whole room.
Only what could be heard was the sound of our heartbeat. I kept peering into her blue, charming eyes, and after some seconds of hesitation, I slowly approached my lips towards her inviting lips while expecting her to turn her face away, but to my greatest surprise, she didn't, but instead she too started approaching her lips too.
As our lips were about to touch, someone cleared his throat from behind us.
