A year ago, something happened in the depths of Burial Mountain Mine. The blacksmith, George, was the only survivor, but for some reason he became a werewolf.

A lot of people died in Townsend Town around half a year ago, supposedly due to an epidemic.

There was once a team from the Lord that came to investigate. They had a witch and a knight skilled at curing epidemics, but they all disappeared.

The actual epidemic never occurred.

Conclusion:

There was never an epidemic. The many deaths in Townsend Town were caused by werewolves from start to finish.

But not by the werewolf currently in the mine.

Instead, it was Blacksmith George and Mayor Barn, and potentially others.
