Douglas Lee (POV)
I felt distracted as I looked aimlessly at the tarred road a distance away from me as I sat on the bridge at the gate of our house.
It’s been days since I last saw her and my heart was starting to ache from missing her.
Although I was doing much better after chatting with her for a short time the other day, we didn’t talk after that.
I wanted to see her desperately and just confess my feelings for her.
Ever since I saw her messages and how playful she was when talking to me, I had this feeling that maybe she might like me.
Even if she didn’t, I just wanted to get everything over with. The more I kept my feelings to myself, the more I felt as if I was going to suffocate, and that feeling wasn’t a great one.
As I sat there worrying about what to do, the gate of my neighbor suddenly opened.
Seeing it opening, I couldn’t help but think of my clingy godsister Lucy. The mischievous young girl who had been proving to be nothing but trouble every day.
