Chapter 69
Charles’ POV
The stench almost froze in the air, as if an invisible hand were strangling my neck.
It's the smell I hate the most.
When I got off the bus, I saw the blood-red sun setting behind the forest in the distance. The Pines, towering like towers, stood silently on both sides of the road, acquiescing in all this.
Four vampires jumped out of the woods, hunched over, cautiously encircling me in four directions, and gradually narrowing the circle of siege.
Teasing. The idea made me very uncomfortable as soon as it came to my mind. Since when do vampires have the balls to mess with the Black Valley Pack Alpha?
Anger makes me move faster, and my strength is not relaxed. I grabbed a vampire's collar, was about to wring his neck. He seemed to know what I was up to, and he broke free with a back flip.
My heart sank and I had a bad feeling -- they seemed to know me well.
