Chapter 41
Selena’s POV
It's weird.
Charles's expression and words are very strange, very different from his usual. He seemed afraid to look me in the eye, then said something out of the blue and turned to leave.
I stared at his hurried figure, wondering what had happened.
He went to the door, and the moment his hand turned the knob, he looked back again. Under my puzzled eyes, he walked silently to my side, sat on the chair beside the bed, and took a deep breath as if he had made an important decision.
"I'm sorry... I lied to you, Selena. You said something in your dream, and I heard it..."
My heart raced, and all the muscles in my body tensed to the limit. "I... What did I say?" I grabbed the quilt and swallowed the saliva. He should not have heard my words about the man, right?
Charles sat down, and I couldn't read anything useful out of his expression except the struggle.
"If you are well now, I think we should talk," he mused.
