Kayla's POV
"Is everything ready?"
Watching the darkness gradually fall outside the window, I couldn't help but ask the maid behind me anxiously.
"Just a little more, Miss Reeves."
"What's still missing?"
Facing my inquiry, the maid smiled and draped a dark red cloak over me. Then, she tied a neat and pretty bow at my neckline.
"There, now nothing is lacking. You look perfect, Reeves... Oh no, Alpha."
I breathed a sigh of relief at the maid's answer. It was only at this moment that I noticed she had changed how she addressed me.
"I'm not your Alpha yet, Tina."
"You will be my Alpha soon."
Tina looked at my slightly anxious expression and softly reassured my emotions, "Although I don't know how others feel, I am very happy about the prospect of you becoming the Alpha of The Obsidian Pack."
Tina's words excited me, but I couldn't help feeling a twinge of guilt. I should have done this sooner, instead of letting the members of my pack go through so much pain.
