"Harrison!"
As Harrison led me away from the dungeon permeated with the stench of decay and death, returning to our bedroom, I couldn't hold back my thoughts any longer.
"Are you sure you don't want to regain your sense of smell?"
I gazed into Harrison's eyes, lowering my voice, trying not to touch upon his painful past.
"I know, to obtain the antidote from the Elder Council, you must end the punishment of those who once harmed you and your family. It's indeed an unfair deal. But for a werewolf, the sense of smell is the way the Moon Goddess grants us a connection with our mate. It's the right of a werewolf to seek a lifelong partner."
"Are you really willing to give up this precious right?"
However, my words didn't sway Harrison and I could see it in his calm eyes.
"Are you doubting my feelings for you, Kayla?"
"Of course not!" I raised my voice instantly. In my anxiety, I revealed the fears and uncertainties hidden in my heart to Harrison.
