Harrison's POV
I sat in the car, watching as Kayla led Daisy into the building of the kindergarten.
As my gaze retreated, I casually glanced at the now darkened screen in the car. On the screen, that familiar face revealed a softness and warmth that even I hadn't realized.
I'm a little lost, but thankfully, the screen lit up at that moment, and my face disappeared from the caller ID.
It was a call from Joshua Ferrera. Without hesitation, I pressed the answer button.
"Wow, Harrison, are you on vacation lately? You answered my call so quickly!"
Joshua, as always, liked to start with some silly jokes.
"Get to the point."
"Well, this is the Harrison I know."
Joshua, on the other end of the line, dropped his teasing and became serious again.
"We've just completed the surgical plan for Daisy's heart surgery on our end, and I think..."
"Wait." I interrupted Joshua.
"Did you call me just to tell me about Daisy's surgical plan?"
