Aubree Groove played with Alexander Gentleman for a while, advised Aunt Wood of some dietary considerations, and left her cellphone number, telling her to call her at the earliest if Alexander needed help with anything.
Aunt Wood gave her a curious look: "Miss Groove, you are so young and seem to be unmarried, how come you have so much experience in taking care of children?"
Alexander was taking small, unsteady steps in the courtyard, holding a string of Buddhist beads in his hand. He giggled, looking in Aubree's direction, and stumbled towards her.
Aubree caught him in her arms, patted his head, and felt the sweat on his forehead.
"I have three younger sisters, I taken care of them all."
Aunt Wood showed an understanding expression.
"Mom... mom." Alexander kept calling unclearly, snuggling in Aubree's arms.
Aubree laughed and shook her head, correcting him patiently: "Call me godmother."
"Mom."
"Godmother."
"Mom."
