She didn't shed a single tear, didn't furrow her brow once. The burns on her leg were severe and had been soaked in water. When removing the gauze, it was almost stuck to the wound, the raw pain of tearing flesh. She couldn't bear to watch it, yet Aubree silenced her own pain.
Peter Aria listened to the nurse's description, his countenance far from tranquil.
"I appreciate your help."
"Dr. Aria, you're too polite. This is my duty, after all. It's my honor to treat Ms. Rinto's wounds. I must tell you, I am her loyal fan. Ms. Aubree even promised to give me her autograph tomorrow," the nurse said, her eyes framing a broad smile.
Once the nurse left, Peter Aria pushed the door open and entered the ward. Aubree was lying on the bed with an IV in her arm, seemingly asleep.
Upon hearing footsteps, she opened her eyes, smiling lightly.
"You can still manage to smile?" Peter Aria sternly came over to her.
