"Go... Han...!" I struggled to breathe. All of my energy was going into my Supreme Wave, the only thing keeping me from being killed by Gohan's Kamehameha, and I was being quickly beaten back, while Gohan was just getting warmed up. That was the difference in our maximum power levels. It was unmistakable. But I wasn't done yet. "I won't lose to you!" I screamed, upping my Silver Mode to a multiplier of thirty. Far beyond safe limits, I could feel the strength in my limbs draining at a truly terrifying rate. I wouldn't last much longer, but it was just the edge I needed to begin beating Gohan's energy wave back.
"Dad left because I wasn't strong enough to stand beside you two! I'M NOT FAILING AGAIN! RAAAAH!!" Finally, Gohan's true feelings exploded out of him, as he turned up the heat once more. Suddenly, his energy level was mine-and-a-half and rising rapidly. I couldn't stand against it. It was like an unstoppable tidal wave of pure force.
"Dad left because he's obsessed with fighting! Whether you're strong or not wouldn't have changed his decision!" I shouted, "I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE! TO LET YOU! DO SOMETHING THAT YOU'RE GOING TO REGRET!" With a scream, my hair began to turn from silver to gold as my aura rippled with golden fire. Once, twice, three times, the golden light faded into and out of existence before exploding out of me and down the lines of my Supreme Wave, turning the wave's core into a brilliant golden color that looked mesmerizing, obscured by the grey mist surrounding it.
My new Super Saiyan energy was more than a match for Gohan's Grey Mode. In only a moment, my Supreme Wave had completely overtaken my brother's Kamehameha, knocking him into the ocean.
"Gohan!" Darting after him, I rescued Gohan from beneath the waves and brought him to a nearby shore. Luckily, he was just unconscious.
'Shay. Make sure that nothing happens to Gohan.' I ordered ambiguously.
'Okay, I'll tell the girls to watch him with the Well.' Shay immediately decided to delegate the duty, so that she didn't have to leave my jacket.
'Works for me.' I'd totally expected her to do that. It wasn't like she would've been sitting beside Gohan waiting for him to wake up, anyways. Shay was well known on Earth as a pseudo-god with powers similar to Shenron. She couldn't be seen watching over Gohan, even if he was being affected by the Black Water Mist.
I powered down out of Super Saiyan mode and used my energy sense to do a quick sweep around the world to see what was going on with Krillin and the Namekians.
I could sense a lot of powerful energies at the lookout... It seemed like everybody from the Kame House capable of flight had been taken there, including Krillin, who'd been turned by the Black Water Mist, like Gohan. Luckily, it seemed that Piccolo had managed to take Nappa out already, and was heading my way.
I ended up waiting in place while Piccolo came over here. After a little while, he landed beside me. "Is Gohan okay?" He asked.
"Nice to see you too, Piccolo. He's just unconscious." I replied, "Nappa?"
"He'll survive. That was some impressive power-up." Piccolo told me.
"Gohan's stronger than me, but I couldn't let him hurt me, he'd regret it. It actually pushed me into going Super Saiyan." I explained.
"Good. I'm just glad we don't have to fight Gohan as well as everyone else. You can feel it, too, right?" Piccolo asked me.
"Yeah. They're all up there. It's like... the lookout's filled with pure, concentrated evil." I agreed.
"Even worse, I can tell that Kami's been captured. I won't be much help here." Piccolo told me, "If worst comes to worst, don't hesitate to sacrifice me. The planet comes first."
"Piccolo..." I couldn't quite tell him how stupid that was. I didn't actually expect many problems here. After all, Gohan's five million power level in the original series had been more or less equal to Garlic Jr at his highest point. My problem was all of our friends up there with my Silver Mode technique. Krillin, Nappa, and Raditz especially could boost their power levels past 10 million, and Krillin and Tien had all kinds of special, tricky techniques that we'd need to be wary of, but with my power level over ten times their maximum in my Super Saiyan mode, not even their tricks could stop me from subduing all of them.
But, just to be safe, I did have a plan to deal with Garlic Jr while keeping Kami safe.
...
"Piccolo, Piccolo, Piccolo... Come to congratulate Kami's newest successor, I see? Kami and I are so happy to see you... aren't we, Kami?" As Piccolo and I landed on the lookout, Garlic Jr walked out of the main building to greet us. Holding a glass bottle in each hand, one of which carried Kami and Dende, while the other carried Mr. Popo, Garlic Jr was surrounded by his henchmen and the Black Water Mist-affected Z-fighters.
"Grr..." Piccolo growled at Garlic Jr, but he couldn't do anything so long as the dwarf was carrying Kami in his hand. Garlic Jr held Piccolo's life in his hands, and we all knew it.
"Growl all you want, you'll stay right there if you know what's good for you... and Kami, here. I hold your life in my hand, Piccolo... And as for you! You're the girl who blindsided me and blasted me into the Dead Zone!" Garlic Jr's focus was on me now, his mind flashing back to the night I'd blindsided him, stealing Gohan's role in getting the jerk stuck in his weird, empty dimension. I wasn't sure if he'd even seen me do it, but I supposed five years of time alone to remember his loss was enough to memorize my energy.
"I don't need to blindside you now, Garlic Jr. You're going down, no matter how many of our friends you've turned to the dark side!"
"That's what you think! Minions, get her!" Garlic shouted, "And Piccolo, if you get in the way, then smashy smashy!" He said, wiggling the jar with Dende and Kami in it for all to see.
'All to plan?' Piccolo asked me telepathically.
'Yeah. Just stay there for now.' I reminded him. 'I've got this.'
