[The absurd deal between the Banes and the Delavegas. There will be no space for our love.
Everything back home is a risk. Raising a family in such an environment is risky too.
Fuck our forefathers for making this happen.
I wish I was someone else. I wish I had a different life.
A life that's far from being a Banes. That way everything would be easier. Everything would be normal. Just that deal made a long time ago.
Now it's affecting all of us yet we're innocent. I wish I could run away with him and escape all these. But there no place to hide. They are so powerful and they'll find me wherever I go and won't hesitate to put a bullet through my skull. There's no place to hide
The only safe place is on another planet or to the moon. If I was a scientist or an explorer I would have found a way for us to stay peacefully in mars. But that's silly, come to think of it. No escape route.
I wish I could just burn the whole syndicate down, for my family to live peacefully. So that I can have a happily ever after with the love of my life. But how do I explain all this to him?
Either way I really don't want to lose him at the same time I don't want to put our lives at risk. Oh crap! Why is life so unfair to us?]

" Waky Waky! Sleepy head!"
My mother's voice suddenly startles me and I almost jump off the sheets.
My heart is beating so fast. I must have been deep in slumber.
I knew this would happen after drinking a lot the previous night. Oh my God my head! It's really killing me.
Mum opens the curtains and the blinding lights hit my eyes making my face wrinkle as I try to absorb it. I rub my eyes gently like a small kid. I still feel sleepy.
"How can you oversleep on your first day in office?" she asks.
"I had a long day yesterday, guess my body was just tired."
I slip out of bed when I notice something fall on the floor.
Oh! shit it's the diary. I must have fallen asleep while reading it.
My mum won't believe it's mine considering the color. So, I slip it under the bed with my legs before she notices it.
"What time is it?" I ask while picking my phone from the nightstand.
"Oh! You only have like an hour to prepare yourself and get your ass to the Delavega Holdings.You know your dad has been waiting for you for the whole month and that's why he wanted to get you to work as soon as you got home.That's why you're starting this soon. "
I'm literally late and it's because of the all nighter I pulled, drinking and reading the damn diary.
"What about Cole?" I ask just after I remember that.
"He left very early while you still had your nose tucked in bed.He's used to this and you'll soon be too." she ruffles my hair
That ass hole! Were we not drinking together last night?
From the way my head is pounding, a cup of coffee would do.
"Oh my God! Is this from Sofia?" She exclaims suddenly.
She's holding the necklace on my nightstand.
Not again. I hold my forehead. My morning couldn't get crappier.
How could I sleep so carelessly leaving my secret weapons out in the air?
"Or are you planning to gift her? When am I seeing her? Where's she from?"
"Oh mum I'm late for work and you need to let me prepare as fast as I can." At Least today I have a viable excuse.
"Okay, this isn't over," she puts back the necklace on the nightstand. "I'll prepare you a cup of coffee before you leave. But please hurry or you'll get in trouble with your dad on your day one."

I'm hoping I'm not a mess as the elevator opens. Preparing myself in a rush could leave me messed up. Which is the opposite of how one expects to be on his day one. I look at my dark suit before I step out of the elevator.
The meeting Was to commence at eleven o'clock in the morning and glancing at my watch, I only have ten minutes to brace myself before heading to the conference hall, shown to me by Cole the previous day. I really prepared myself in a rush.
There's a woman at the desk before my office and I assume that could be my newly employed secretary.
She stands up as soon as she sees me approaching, " Good morning, sir!"
Oh! She looks pretty too, like she's in her mid twenties,but after I met Maria, it's hard for me to dwell on that. It's a new day and she still somehow manages to be the prettiest woman in my brain.
Meanwhile in the whole workplace I can read the atmosphere, it's like everyone has always been waiting for the day I'll be formally introduced in the company.
Yesterday was just something casual and by the time we were there, some workers had already left.
All heads are heading towards the conference hall while others have already settled. The chairs and tables are neatly arranged with some few at the front facing the congregation seats.
This must be a big deal apart from my introduction.
There must be some changes being made too.
This could be the reason why Cole got up so early.
I go to his office and I find him preparing with his notebook.
"Hey man," I don't knock though. He looks up,
"David, you're here. You made it just in time."
"Why didn't you wake me up before you left?" I probe.
"I thought you said you set an alarm." He answers.
Come to think of it? What happened to my alarm? Did it ring and I slammed it off? Or did I just assume I set the alarm when in reality I didn't?
I must have had a lot going on in my mind.
We both head to the conference hall where the rest of the employees are waiting.
It's an import and export company and has a lot of departments which is why the employees fill this large conference hall.
We sit at the front table, which is meant for the officials. There are two empty chairs beside me.
I'm looking through the crowd and I don't catch any glimpse of Maria. Is she going to miss this too? Why is she not here yet?
Oh no! Why am I thinking about her again?
My mind should be focusing on what should be focused on right now. My dad is not here either. He's still the overall head of the company and he's the one to do the honors of welcoming me.
It's five minutes past time and Cole is already on his speech welcoming everyone for the meeting when the door cracks open and all eyes are on it. Silence feels the room as dad walks in,dressed in official suits just as everyone in the room.
To my surprise Maria is walking just behind her and damn!
I can't deny it, she's looking more gorgeous than the previous day I can say.
Was it because she was wasted yesterday?
Today she's dressed officially.
She's in a dark blue pencil skirt, decently short to reveal her slender legs with a well - tucked white blouse with few blue flowers.
A small belt that holds tight her mosquito-like waist, making her petite figure look more attractive. I can even notice the silver stilletos she has on. Unlike yesterday, today she has her brown hair tightly tied into a bun, revealing all the features of her beautiful face. It also reveals her elegant neck and I am lost in it.
Oh God! I want to suck it so badly. Infact with the juggling of my body, at this moment, I want to hold every part of her. This one is a killer. This one will be the end of me. Why does she have this effect on my body?
She's walking towards the head's table with some files in her hand and I just can't take my eyes off her.
She's drop dead gorgeous that I'm lost in everything about her. I don't even realize the most important question I should be asking myself. Why is she late and why is she arriving with my father? Is she that important? Why is she sitting at the same table with us?
She glances at me and catches me in the act. Our eyes meet and she's not willing to give in. And oh! She's walking towards us.
I can feel my blood run cold from her gaze until she finally takes a seat. Where exactly? On the chair next to mine.
Damn! How will I make it through the whole meeting with this breathtaking lady right next to me?
