章節 15: The rabbit camp

"Are you okay?" Chump asked with a sense of pride in his performance.

Clem stood there, astonished by the feat. The bear lay dead, torn apart on the ground.

Chump casually tossed the metal pipe aside, seemingly forgetting about its existence as it clanged on the ground.

Metalpipe.mp3 sound effect.

"I'm sorry I took so long," Chump chuckled. "You know, it's a bit challenging to read letters as small as ants to recognize what I'm looking for. And more in the middle of an attack of a magma bear hahahaha~"

Clem stammered out, "How... but how did I... That's a nightmare for any golem, and you froze it without Remenant! That was incredible!"

Chump scratched the back of his head. "Nah, it was just a flashy idea I got when I saw the golem slowing down in the water..."

"But how did you do it? Ice appearing without Remenant or an Ice creature or—"

Chump clarified, "It wasn't exactly ice... It was liquid nitrogen. Enough to cool it down and make it more fragile, and then a good swing and BAM!"

The human picked up the now solid head of the molten bear and looked around. "I hope it doesn't revert to Pearlite. I want to check its composition, haha."

"Excuse me? What is nitrogen? And what's Pearlite?" Clem inquired, pulling out his notebook.

Chump gestured for the golem to follow him. "Alright, let me explain."

Chump spent some time explaining the elements and how they were discovered and used in their civilization. As this explanation unfolded, they exited and resumed their regular route, heading for the lab.

"So I was curious about the applications of this challenging-to-contain liquid, aside from culinary uses. Turns out, it has various applications, including preserving biological materials in various industries," Chump concluded.

Without hesitation, Clem nodded along, captivated by the knowledge Chump was sharing.

"Okay, that's a lot to take in, but... How did you know it would work?" Clem inquired, curiosity overshadowing his astonishment.

"Just a wild guess," Chump shrugged with a cheerful demeanor.

"No way," Clem responded.

Chump laughed before continuing, "Seriously! I thought for a moment that it had to be constantly generating heat and was on the verge of solidifying. You mentioned earlier that they lived in a volcano."

Clem continued to explain, "You just needed a good hit to break it down when you cooled it far below what it could handle! That was genius!" He was genuinely impressed by his companion's ingenuity.

"Thanks, thanks! But now, you have to explain to me how you fired those lasers," Chump asked.

Clem replied, somewhat confused, "Well, I just use my powers."

"No, no, I mean, you created some sort of rune, enchantment, or something like that. It had something to do with that spell," Chump clarified.

"No?" Clem answered, even more bewildered. "What are you talking about?"

"When you shot those lasers at the door, your hand had a figure in the middle of the light. It even blinded me for a moment there," Chump explained.

"I just... think, and I want to shoot three tiny lasers, and they just shoot," Clem stated.

"That's strange. Look, do you have a recording tool in your lab? My phone isn't very powerful in that regard."

Clem responded, "Those tools are quite expensive to—" Then interrupted himself. "What do you mean your phone can record?!" Clem exclaimed, clearly surprised.

"Yes, look!" Chump held up his phone, turned on the video camera, and said, "Cheers" to the screen.

Then he handed the phone to Clem, who watched the recorded video with fascination, playing it over and over.

"This is magnificent! With this advancement, we can finally achieve great things without a problem. I... I don't know how to—" Clem began to express his excitement.

"Bro, this was a common thing we used in our civilization... I thought you had studied us; how did you not know about it?" But Chump was interrupted.

Clem interrupted him, signaling toward the front with fluidity.

"We're here! These are my installations. I hope you like them, Mister Chump."

"...Alright, fine. I'll leave it alone. I guess you had a lot going on..." Chump thought to himself.

The base had a rather crude appearance, with walls made of metal scraps and plates hastily put together. It occupied just over 50 square meters (around 540 square feet).

Many tiny electric rabbits, similar to the one that had assisted on the train, were attached to the walls, seemingly performing the role of welders.

The place lacked decoration, with one wall still missing. However, the most intriguing part lay within.

First, there was a three-meter-long chair (almost 10 feet long). The chair was primarily charcoal black with a touch of light blue.

Blue lights with crystal ends adorned the armrests, legs, headrest, and the middle of the base. The chair had three supports: the base, the legrest, and the headrest. Carved lines connected the lights, giving the chair a futuristic aesthetic.

Beneath the chair lay a similar blue crystal to the one in Clem's chest, but it was the size of an entire person. It emitted a faint aura that concentrated on the chair's lights.

"What's that chair for?" Chump asked, curiosity piqued.

"That's my bed. It allows me to recharge my magic while staying comfortable. However, I haven't used it yet; I don't need to sleep every night."

"And what's that?" Chump pointed to his right.

The second machine had an unusual design, with a structure resembling a basic office table supported by two boxes and a small leg space.

The primary material appeared to be an orange-tinted metal design, with a striking rectangular tabletop primarily made of crystal.

One of the boxes had a simple handle on top of the panel, while the other contained numerous drawers. It featured a minimalist design with no decorative elements, focusing on functionality without sharp edges or corners.

"That's my forge. It allows me to create the tools I need from raw materials," Clem explained, moving closer and opening the box with the single handle.

Opening it revealed a dark space where no light could penetrate or reflect.

"I put the scraps I won't use in there. They're analyzed, recycled, and turned into raw materials. Using my powers, I can create any tool, material, composition, or object on the tabletop. However, it must be smaller than the size of the table and not too tall."

"Wow, that's impressive. Let me guess; it requires your power and some time, right?"

"You catch on fast. Before, you demonstrated the intelligence and wisdom of your surroundings. Now, I have several questions that I'd like to—" Clem was interrupted.

"Can you create something that would let me use Remenant on my own?"
