She used her grim reaper power but everyone assumed that she was somehow using mental strength. The guards were wowed and so were the servants. 

As for the family members who had stayed behind to guard the door while others went around looking for Justin, they had followed the couple as well. 

Their jaws dropped when they saw the boy so high up. How in the world had he managed to get up there in such a short time? And how had nobody seen him?

Esong got to him before she did and he picked up their son by the back of his shirt like a mother cat picking up a kitten.
