章節 302: The Fish Community

I watched Demyan from the corner of my eye as he stared at the water with such concentration you would have thought he was Aquaman trying to summon the fish to us. His plump lips were twisted, his nose scrunched and the freckles on his face had tanned a bit during the day making them look more prominent. He was adorable and I knew his stress. 

Demyan was not the greatest fisherman, mostly because as he said 'I do not like to kill innocents'. He never joined us for hunting trips nor did his parents. They were more than happy to eat but did not like to see the loss of life at all. 

When he was young he caught plenty of fish but when none of us were looking he would let the fish go and pretend like it had slipped out of the net. He was too kind and even from as a young boy he would come running to me with an injured bird. We would nurse it back to health and for the cases that were not successful he would spend the entire day crying.
