THE JESUS SLAY QUEENS

Episode 48

Immediately Ella was done talking, she left the two of us in the room.

My phone started ringing again. I checked the caller's ID and discovered it was the same number that had been calling me earlier.

"Who is calling?" Susan asked.

"The queen I guess!" I replied.

"The queen? Does she have your number?"

"No! But that shouldn't be a problem with her."

"How did you know it was the queen calling?"

"I don't know! I just guessed! It obvious she's the one. Who would call me at such hour of the night if not the queen?"

"Are you sure this assumption is wrong? Why would the queen be dialing your number when she can easily appear in your room physically? By the way, Romeo asked me to give him your number. I'm sorry I forgot to tell you.

I'm expecting hear from him especially after the prayers for his father. I think he's the one calling. Personally, I'm dying to hear from him. I need to find out if your prayers worked."

With that, it dawned on me that it was not the queen calling me. But wait a second, it looked stupid of me to actually believe the queen was dialing my phone number. What was I thinking?

I swiped the green bar and placed the phone on loud speaker.

"Hello!" Came the caller's voice.

Immediately I heard it, I recognized his voice immediately.

A smile flickered on my face.

"How are you doing Romeo?"

"It's Robert, not Romeo!"

"Please bear with me! Changing your name is not easy. I'm not used to change."

"Haa! That's not a good thing to say ooo!"

"I know, but at least I'm a honest person. I'm the type of person who the bible calls, as it was in the beginning so is now, ever shall be world without end! Amen!"

I could hear my friend laughing on the phone and that forced a smile on my face. I was really good at cracking jokes and lifting up people's spirits.

"I have goodnews for you!" He announced.

"I knew it!" Susan whispered grinning.

"Really? We have been waiting to hear about your Dad! How is he right now?'

"That's the goodnews! He has been discharged today. I don't know how it happened, but God is really awesome! I can't believe it! It happened so suddenly! His body started responding to treatment just as you decreed.

Wow! I can't believe you're so much anointed!"

"Glory be to God! It had nothing to do with me! It had everything to do with the power of the Holy Ghost. I'm not anointed anything. I only called upon the Christ, which means the anointed. The anointed used his anointing to heal your father. That was exactly what happened.

All praise and glory be to God in the highest!"

"Amen!" He replied.

"I knew it!" Susan whispered.

She stood up and began to dance around the room. I was just smiling sheepishly where I sat.

"So when are you coming back to school?"

"Haa! Are you missing me already?"

"No ooo! I'm just curious!"

"Say the truth jare! The seat is empty. No Juliet to fill the vacuum! Abi?"

"Haaa! Please stop that! You're embarrassing me. I'm not that boyfriend and girlfriend type of person. I respect people and lobe being respected in return. You know very well the first day we met that I'm not like everyone in the class."

"I know! I'm just pulling your legs!" I replied grinning.

"I'm just curious. When will you be back? Broadway needs you!"

"I'm on a two weeks suspension. I'll be back after the suspension is over."

"My God! What happened?"

"Don't border yourself about that! It's a story for another day. Anyway! How is mummy?"

"Which mummy?"

"Your mother na!"

"She doesn't exist!"

"Oh! I'm sorry about that! May her gentle soul rest in peace!"

"She's not dead!"

"Then why are you saying she doesn't exist?"

"She and my dad are divorced!"

I was shocked by that information.

"Why? What happened between your dad and your mom?"

"That's a story for another day!" He replied.

I burst into laughter.

"So you're getting back at me abi?"

"No! I mean honestly it's a long story! We might not be able to exhaust it if we go into it right now. So let's leave it for another day."

"Ok! Thank you so much for calling to share the testimony with us."

"And thank you so much for forgiving me and praying for my Dad. The prayer of a person who forgave you has amazing power."

"Goodnight!"

"Goodnight Juliet!" He replied and ended the call.

"Juliet! You and this your Roberto! I'm using suspicious eyes to look at the two of you ooo!" Susan teased.

"Get away jor! You don't know when a brother and a sister are talking. All you see is a boyfriend gisting with his girlfriend."

"Haaa! I didn't say that ooo!" See where your mind is even heading to! For you to know guilty conscience is killing you."

I made to get up and fight her, but she quickly stood up and ran out of the room.

I checked the time and discovered it was already 5 minutes to 10pm. I had to go to bed, but I had promised myself as part of my new way of life never to go to bed without first reading the bible.

So I had to do my bible study first before going to bed.

I stood up and walked over to the study table. My bible was already there waiting for me. So I opened it.

"Father please guide my hands. Direct me to the place you want me to study!" I whispered as I flipped through the pages.

Soon, I came across a chapter in the book of first Kings that caught my attention. I decided to read it.

1 Kings 13:1 And, behold, there came a man of God out of Judah by the word of the LORD unto Bethel: and Jeroboam stood by the altar to burn incense.

Verse 2 And he cried against the altar in the word of the LORD, and said, O altar, altar, thus saith the LORD; Behold, a child shall be born unto the house of David, Josiah by name; and upon thee shall he offer the priests of the high places that burn incense upon thee, and men's bones shall be burnt upon thee.

Verse 3. And he gave a sign the same day, saying, This is the sign which the LORD hath spoken; Behold, the altar shall be rent, and the ashes that are upon it shall be poured out.

Verse 4. And it came to pass, when king Jeroboam heard the saying of the man of God, which had cried against the altar in Bethel, that he put forth his hand from the altar, saying, Lay hold on him. And his hand, which he put forth against him, dried up, so that he could not pull it in again to him.

Verse 5. The altar also was rent, and the ashes poured out from the altar, according to the sign which the man of God had given by the word of the LORD.

Verse 6. And the king answered and said unto the man of God, Intreat now the face of the LORD thy God, and pray for me, that my hand may be restored me again. And the man of God besought the LORD, and the king's hand was restored him again, and became as it was before.

Verse 7. And the king said unto the man of God, Come home with me, and refresh thyself, and I will give thee a reward.

Verse 8. And the man of God said unto the king, If thou wilt give me half thine house, I will not go in with thee, neither will I eat bread nor drink water in this place:

Verse 9. For so was it charged me by the word of the LORD, saying, Eat no bread, nor drink water, nor turn again by the same way that thou camest.

Verse 10. So he went another way, and returned not by the way that he came to Bethel.

Verse 11. Now there dwelt an old prophet in Bethel; and his sons came and told him all the works that the man of God had done that day in Bethel: the words which he had spoken unto the king, them they told also to their father.

Verse 12. And their father said unto them, What way went he? For his sons had seen what way the man of God went, which came from Judah.

Verse 13. And he said unto his sons, Saddle me the ass. So they saddled him the ass: and he rode thereon,

Verse 14. And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am.

Verse 15.Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.

Verse 16. And he said, I may not return with thee, nor go in with thee: neither will I eat bread nor drink water with thee in this place:

Verse 17. For it was said to me by the word of the LORD, Thou shalt eat no bread nor drink water there, nor turn again to go by the way that thou camest.

Verse 18. He said unto him, I am a prophet also as thou art; and an angel spake unto me by the word of the LORD, saying, Bring him back with thee into thine house, that he may eat bread and drink water. But he lied unto him.

Verse 19. So he went back with him, and did eat bread in his house, and drank water.

Verse 20. And it came to pass, as they sat at the table, that the word of the LORD came unto the prophet that brought him back:

Verse 21. And he cried unto the man of God that came from Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD, Forasmuch as thou hast disobeyed the mouth of the LORD, and hast not kept the commandment which the LORD thy God commanded thee,

Verse 22. But camest back, and hast eaten bread and drunk water in the place, of the which the Lord did say to thee, Eat no bread, and drink no water; thy carcase shall not come unto the sepulchre of thy fathers.

I was shocked.

"Daddy what's the meaning of this scripture.

"THIS STORY YOU HAVE JUST READ IS WHAT I CALL THE TRAGEDY OF THE HOLIDAY CHRISTIAN!"

"Haa! Holiday? But this man of God was decieved! It was not completely his fault that he failed the test. Even the person who decieved him was a servant of God."

"YES! BUT WHO REALLY DECIEVED HIM? WAS IT THE PROPHET? OR WAS IT HIS FLESH?"

I opened my mouth unable to answer the question.

"READ VERSE 14."

"Verse 14. And went after the man of God, and found him sitting under an oak: and he said unto him, Art thou the man of God that camest from Judah? And he said, I am."

"THE QUESTION IS WHAT WAS HE DOING UNDER THE OAK TREE? IF HE HAD KEPT MOVING ON AND NEVER STOPPED IN HIS SPIRITUAL JOURNEY TO THE HEIGHT GOD WAS TAKING HIM SPIRITUALLY. WOULD THAT DECIEVER HAD CAUGHT UP WITH HIM?"

"No!" I answered.

"THIS IS THE TRAGEDY OF THE HOLIDAY CHRISTIAN. THE CHRISTIAN THAT PRAYS TODAY AND USES TOMORROW TO REST. THE CHRISTIAN THAT DOESN'T LIVE A CONSISTENT SPIRITUAL LIFE.

THE THINGS YOU LEFT BEHIND IN ORDER TO FOLLOW GOD TO WHERE HE IS TAKING YOU, WILL CATCH UP WITH YOU AND BRING YOU BACK."

"Jesus is Lord!!!"

"THIS PROPHET SAT DOWN TO REST. PAUL SAID, I RUN! BUT THIS MAN IS RESTING! I PRAYED YESTERDAY! I'M SO TIRED, LET ME SLEEP SMALL TODAY AND CONTINUE TOMORROW!"

"Daddy can I ask a question?"

"GO AHEAD!"

"Sometimes the reason why we rest is because we are truly tired. I mean we are really tired. All our body is just giving us pain everywhere! We put in all our efforts to try to continue tye prayers, but no way! We struggle and struggle until the flesh takes over.

Daddy! Can't you understand we are not spirits? We are humans! We are weak! We get weak and this affects our walk with you! What is the solution to this? Will you pardon us because of the weakness of our mortal bodies, or will the enemy still defeat us because we went on spiritual holiday?"

"GOOD! NOW LET ME TEACH YOU THE PRINCIPLES OF SPIRITUAL STABILITY!"

I quickly drew out my bible study jotter and pen.

To be continued...

We thank God for the healing of Robert's father.

Hallelujah!😊😊😊

Juliet is now an upcoming prophetess.

THE PRINCIPLES OF SPIRITUAL STABILITY
