Ren's confusion quickly turned to shock as he turned around to see what Ichiro had meant. His momentary lapse in judgment had caused him to forget about Ichiro's partner.
"Everyone, watch out!" Ren's voice rang out as he saw not one but two mechanical beasts standing before them. Even the smaller one, about the size of a dog, presented a formidable threat that they couldn't easily overcome.
Emi, finally back on her feet, observed the bloody Ichiro and silently commended his efforts with a nod and a faint smile. Although Ichiro couldn't hear her words, he understood their unspoken meaning. With a satisfied smile, he closed his eyes, allowing his battered body to rest.
The onlookers were in awe as they witnessed Emi's transformation from a meek partner into a cold and domineering force to be reckoned with. Even Senpai Fujimoto couldn't hide his excitement, eagerly anticipating how Emi would bring this mock battle to its conclusion.
"GET HER!" Ren shouted in fear as he watched the situation spiraling out of control. Emi's summoning of two mechanical beasts showcased her immense power compared to his. Despite their numerical advantage, they were still utterly powerless in the face of her might.
Emi sighed in exasperation, finding the situation bothersome. She knew she needed to end this quickly and get Ichiro to the clinic. Despite the severe pain she had endured earlier, she was keenly aware of what Ichiro had done. Challenging Ren was impressive, yet undeniably foolish.
"Finish this up," Emi commanded.
The larger mechanical lion roared thunderously, causing the stadium to shake as if an earthquake were underway.
"Everyone, get ready!" Ren rallied his teammates as he prepared to attack the mechanical beast. However, his efforts were in vain when the smaller mechanical dog launched a surprise attack from the side, interrupting his spell.
"Get lost!" Ren roared as he attempted to fend off the mechanical dog's assault. The battle had taken a turn for the worse, and Emi's overwhelming power was proving to be too much for them to handle.
The mechanical dog displayed incredible speed, rivaling that of the fastest motorcycles, making it a formidable opponent. Its movements were akin to those of a skilled warrior in battle.
Nao was rattled, having expended all her energy in the earlier confrontation with Ichiro. Her strength was dwindling, and she feared that if she pushed herself any further, she might collapse. She anxiously wondered, "What should I do?"
Shinji, on the other hand, seethed with frustration. He had relentlessly attacked the mechanical lion, pouring all his efforts into defeating it. Yet, despite his best attempts, it reappeared in front of him unscathed, as if it had never been attacked. It looked brand new, without a scratch.
Spectators continued to watch the unfolding battle. Ren and his team were clearly on the losing side. Meanwhile, Emi steadily moved closer to the collapsed Ichiro. When she reached him and examined his condition, a small smile formed on her lips. She realized that he wasn't severely wounded but fast asleep instead.
"He must have exhausted himself." Emi muttered to herself as she observed Ichiro, who was sleeping so peacefully despite the ongoing battle. She realized that he must have exhausted himself. Seeing the boy rest so peacefully put her at ease, and she couldn't help but smile.
Senpai Fujimoto, who had also been concerned for Ichiro's condition, noticed Emi's smile and understood that the young man was indeed fine. He found the situation intriguing.
However, amidst the relative calm near Ichiro, chaos continued to reign in the arena. Ryo desperately tried to reach Nao and save her, but he was too late. The mechanical lion struck her with its large paw, sending her flying and crashing into the wall.
"Is this it?" Ren stood dumbfounded, questioning if this was all he could do. He wondered if his family was truly as weak as it seemed, and if he had finally reached his limit. His confidence wavered.
Shinji, realizing Ren's distracted state, shouted, "Ren, snap out of it!" He managed to alert Ren just in time to prevent the mechanical dog from striking him.
The situation had become dire, and it seemed that Emi and her mechanical beasts had the upper hand.
Ren managed to cover his arm with a hard rock shield just in time, preventing the mechanical dog from biting through. His quick thinking had saved him from further harm.
Emi, after finishing her check on Ichiro using a device, frowned upon realizing the extent of his injuries. She became furious with herself, blaming her lack of foresight for the current situation. She knew that Ichiro needed medical care urgently.
With Nao already unconscious and out of the fight, only four of them remained. When they noticed that the mechanical beasts had stopped attacking, they turned their attention to the source of the cessation.
"Give up already," Emi stated, her frustration evident. She saw no point in prolonging the battle; the outcome was clear.
Ren, despite their overwhelming defeat, shouted defiantly, "Never."
Emi sighed and closed her eyes for a moment, contemplating her next move. "Fine."
Ren and his team braced themselves for the worst, knowing that Emi was far from weak and still had more to offer. But they were painfully aware of their own limitations. It was inevitable that they would eventually reach their breaking point.
Then, unexpectedly, a voice rang out, cutting through the tense atmosphere. "We quit." The declaration left everyone in the stadium stunned.
"Did Emi just give up?"
"Does this mean Ren and his team won?"
Senpai Fujimoto, however, had expected this turn of events. He had noticed that Emi had no intention of prolonging the fight, and the opponent seemed unwilling to surrender.
"You dare mock me?" Ren seethed with anger, causing the ground to shake once again as small boulders lifted into the air.
Emi, unfazed by Ren's reaction, remained silent. She had no intention of mocking him; she simply wanted to end the battle and tend to Ichiro's medical needs.
Ren gathered all his remaining energy, using it to lift countless small rocks high above them. These rocks merged together to form an enormous, looming boulder that blocked out the stadium lights, casting the area into darkness. His determination was palpable.
"I'll show you what defeat really means."
Fear rippled through the onlookers, and Senpai Fujimoto urgently warned everyone to retreat, fearing the impending attack might spiral out of control and harm the remaining students.
Panic spread as people shouted in terror, imagining the worst possible outcome.
However, before the colossal rock could descend upon them, Ren suddenly fell to his knees, his strength waning.
Emi swiftly pulled out a gun and unleashed a sonic wave, aiming it directly at Ren. The power of the wave was overwhelming, causing his mind to go blank and his ears to bleed from the sheer force of it.
"I told you to just quit," Emi stated irritably, annoyed that she had been forced to intervene to end the situation.
