Playing along was the best solution for now because Anna had not learned more about this new life she possessed.
Therefore, she accepted the title the workers assumed she retained in their Master's life.
"When do you think the rest would retire from work?" Anna asked and shook her head as if she asked the wrong question. "When are you retiring from work today, it's already late?"
"I'll leave when you instruct me, Madam. I don't think I have a closing time," Wei Yan answered.
"What about the rest?" Anna inquired.
"Well, Madam, some of my mates have gone home while some are in our dorm rooms but we are still working. We are putting things in place and making sure everything is arranged before going to sleep," Wei Yan explained.
"Why, Madam? Do you need anything?"
Anna glanced at Wei Yan, wondering and questioning herself if she should trust this innocent-looking soul.
"Just let me know when everyone is resting, I want to eat something else," Anna said instead and motioned for Wei Yan to lead her out of the bathroom.
Wei Yan understood the gesture and pushed Madam out of the room. "Is there anything you want to do, Madam?" Wei Yan asked when they reached the room.
Anna wasn't starving so she could wait a little before eating. Anna, being fully awake, suddenly wished she could play a game since Wei Yan was in the room with her, willing to do anything Anna said.
However, Anna decided to face the window like before, thinking about her previous life and how she'd make her new life better.
Wei Yan excused herself to get some things done before coming back to Madam when her colleagues retired.
After two hours, Wei Yan entered the room, thinking that her Madam would be asleep but Anna was still in that spot.
"Madam, I'm back," Wei Yan announced.
"Very good," Anna looked away from the window and turned her head to the food that was on the table in front of a couch.
"Yes, Madam, my colleagues are packing up to get some sleep and call it a day. I'll do the same when I've satisfied you," Wei Yan explained.
Anna nodded. She had thought that George would call Wei Yan's phone again but he didn't.
Anna told Wei Yan what she wanted and the next moment, they were both out of the room.
Wei Yan pushed Madam's chair until she was close to the kitchen. Anna wanted to see how Wei Yan would cook the meal she was going to eat.
Anna just couldn't wait to get out of that chair because there were a lot of things she needed to learn and cooking seemed to be among them because of the people around her.
Anna, however, stayed in the corridor. The maids' dorm rooms were located somewhere close to the kitchen.
Anna waited for Wei Yan as she knew that Wei Yan wouldn't try to kill her. Hence, she stayed outside the kitchen, listening to the sound of cooking.
The sound of cooking was what Anna was hearing when she heard footsteps. The footsteps didn't bother her because she believed that it was one of the maids going into her dorm room.
Anna wasn't paying attention at first because she wasn't concerned about any maid but the moment she heard Zhu Jia's name, Anna's interest evolved.
Anna didn't mean to eavesdrop but she was curious about Zhu Jia.
"We've been waiting for you, Jia," Anna heard one of the maid's voices.
"Was Wei Yan able to finish all the chores?" Zhu Jia asked. "Including our room?" She added.
'Wait, was Wei Yan the one doing these chores? She is hired to take care of me and not the house'
Anna thought and continued to listen to the two ladies' conversation. Then two other maids joined and they all were saying different kinds of negative things about Wei Yan.
Anna scoffed inwardly when she sensed jealousy in their words. She then heard Zhu Jia's voice.
Zhu Jia's purpose seemed to be about destroying Wei Yan. Anna recognized that after hearing Zhu Jia's plans.
Zhu Jia, however, didn't know how she was going to execute her plan of ruining Wei Yan's image in Master's eyes.
Zhu Jia also didn't forget to mention that she despised their Madam. She even went as far as saying Anna wasn't deserving of Master George's love and kindness.
Anna wasn't surprised as she also wasn't when Zhu Jia reacted disrespectfully behind her not knowing Anna could view her image.
Anna kept the words they spilled out of their mouths stored in her mind, planning on what she was going to do to teach those women a lesson that they'd never forget.
Wei Yan finished cooking in the kitchen and took her Madam to the dining table since that was where Anna chose to eat.
Wei Yan had to feed Anna because of her disabilities and after dinner, Wei Yan escorted her Madam back to her room and helped her to lay in bed.
"Don't worry, Madam. You'll be able to do everything you want to soon. Time flies so fast, remember?" Wei Yan assured Anna with a wide smile on her face before covering Anna with the bedsheets.
It took Anna some time to fall asleep and when she did, Wei Yan informed her Master about it.
The next morning, Wei Yan repeated the activities she performed the previous morning with her Madam.
They strolled the garden and got busy with some things.
Anna just couldn't wait for dusk to arrive. But when dusk finally arrived, Wei Yan came to inform her Madam about Master George's change of plan.
George, unfortunately, didn't come to check on her. Was he that busy?! How could he not be able to spare some time for her?
Anna angrily sent Wei Yan away even when Wei Yan told her that Master George wanted to speak with her.
Anna barely slept that night. There were a lot of things she wanted to know but George wasn't making himself available!
Was he this way when she was in a coma?
'Come to think of it, how can someone be in a coma for four years?'
Anna pondered after so many negative thoughts about George. She was upset with him and couldn't wait to express her anger at him.
George must bear her wrath!
Anna didn't care if he had been by her side for four years. That wasn't going to stop her from flaring up at him. Anna wouldn't feel at ease until she expressed the anger she felt against George.
