Kai Syaoran had scanned the entire sect and he had seen what was going on. He had seen why the Heavenly Demon sect had so many Grey wolves. 

They were not used for food or anything of the sort. Such roles were left to other Demonic beasts that were deemed tastier such as the Raging Bulls and they even had Demonic peacocks next to the kitchens. 

As for the Grey wolves, he had found them locked up in a large structure by the edge of the sect. 

Inside this structure, there were small rooms for Cultivation and inside, he saw human cultivators use some sinister art to absorb the talent of the Grey wolves. Kai Syaoran had seen this art once before. He saw it when his mother and sister were killed in the same manner.
