Mist River, 7:30 pm.
Glenn Clark came downstairs from upstairs with a box containing the Tiger Beetle and shouted to Doris Clark, who was watching TV in the living room, "Mom, I'm going out for a walk."
Because the area was known for its good public safety, Doris Clark was not worried about his safety and merely reminded him, "Don't go too far, okay?"
"I know."
"Wait, why are you taking out your brother's pet bug for a walk?" Doris Clark asked curiously as she looked at the box he was holding.
"Oh, my brother called me this afternoon, asking me to release it into the river," Glenn Clark blinked.
There was no way he could explain his brother's bizarre request to tie a string around it and drop it into the water to Doris Clark without raising suspicions, so it seemed better to say he was going to release it.
"Your brother called you?"
Doris Clark was taken aback, then asked with concern, "Did he mention how he is doing there? Has he been injured? Is he eating well?"
