Steve Burton seemed not to have heard Olivia Foster admit her mistake, only leisurely flipping through the documents in his hand.

The atmosphere in the conference room was eerily quiet.

Olivia felt her heartbeat quicken, she stealthily raised her eyelids, glanced at Steve, and then spoke, "Mr. Burton, I promise, it won't happen again."

Steve "hmm'd" in response, closed the document in his hand, tossed it onto the table, and looked at Olivia.

Even after two hours, Olivia's face was still swollen and somewhat alarming.

There was little reaction on Steve's face as he picked up another document, opened it, and finally spoke, "Olivia Foster, are you afraid that I would blame you for your poor work performance and are deliberately playing the martyr, slapping yourself twice?"

Olivia was completely unprepared for Steve to say that. She raised her head, looked at him with wide eyes, and began saying with a hint of redness in her eyes, "No."
