When Anna Jadwin woke up in the middle of the night, she saw a light on by the sofa. Wayne Bailey was lying on the couch covered with a blanket, with black-framed glasses perched on his nose, and books and a laptop were placed on his knees and on the sofa.
She bit her lower lip. These days at The Baileys' Manor, he would often sleep alone on the sofa or find an excuse to bring Ivy Bailey to the study to read books.
She remembered Wayne saying that he had no reaction to Cathy Xavier, and to avoid her, he would sleep in the study, too.
But he clearly had feelings for her. She could see the beast of desire awakened in his eyes and hear the rasp in his voice when he spoke. Sometimes, she maliciously "accidentally" touched his groin, and he would immediately react and hide in the bathroom.
He obviously wanted her, but avoided her. Was he still being petulant?
Anna Jadwin quickly fell back into a half-conscious sleep. Once she got the Blue Tourmaline, everything would get better.
