Seeing the look of distress upon her face poked his heart with guilt. He hadn't meant to stun her like this. Seeking to alleviate her stress, he reached for her hands massaging them lightly as a silent apology to atone for the unexpected surprise. 

"I didn't mean to say it so carelessly. Yes, I would be leaving– But only for a short period of time. Two to three weeks at most and I will come back for you."
