Tuzi's voice trailed off softly, drawing a satisfactory conclusion to the love story she was regaling to her listeners. And as she bowed respectfully to her audience, a loud round of applause rang out from the community, with some laughing, others sniffling and wiping joyful tears from their eyes.

*** Moon glanced over to where Sky was, only to find that he had already quietly left the room. She wasn't sure whether the feeling she held after hearing about their origin stories, was one of sentimental nostalgia, or gutting betrayal.

Her mood was somber. The way Tuzi had ended their love story on a happy note, made her insides twist and ache. The Goddess would wish anything for that happy ending to their true story. But alas, this is where her bond with Sky lies.
