In the days that followed, Tuzi tried her best to atone for the terrible blunder that she caused her new family. But try as she may, much to her chagrin, it seemed that everything was an effort that amounted to failure.

For example, on the day Yin intended to carry her laundry to the stream for washing, Tuzi volunteered to help. The task began simply enough. Tuzi shouldered the heavy basket of clothes while guiding the older woman to the streamside. Despite Yin's recent health improvements since their relocation to the village, she remained quite frail and still required assistance.

Because it was literally Tuzi's first time doing laundry, Yin patiently taught the younger woman how the cleaning process worked. Truthfully, she enjoyed having someone to talk to and do things with. And Tuzi is such wonderful company!
