“I was going to leave anyways.”
With that, he eyed her once more, winked, and walked out of the bathroom. Daisy’s beautiful face was contorted in a deep frown, and suddenly she saw herself going after him.
“Hey, stop right there!” she seethed once she stepped out of the bathroom.
Wesley stopped in his tracks, turned, and stared at her, feeling amused. He didn’t know he was going to face an angry bird, so he was taken aback once he turned.
‘Is it because of what I said to her back there?” he wondered, bewildered. Even still, that made him want to tease her even more.
He crossed his arms over his broad chest and stared at the lady standing before him who couldn’t even reach his chin in height.
“I want to ask you a question!” she said through gritted teeth.
“Why did you have sex with me last night, seeing that you got the wrong woman? Why didn’t you push me out?”
The way she was so serious, he really wanted to burst out laughing. Anyways, he couldn’t stop the chuckle that escaped his lips.
He smirked, then asked, “and what makes you think I got the wrong woman cause I don’t understand what you mean by that?”
He raised his brows smugly and continued. “If you’re asking why I fucked you, obviously, I was so in need of a woman, and you walked in.”
Her head went blank for a moment. She could not believe someone had actually used such a filthy word on her.
‘Why does he mean? That she was a straying bitch?’
She fixed her angry eyes on him, and with her fist clenched, she seethed, “and what is that supposed to mean?”
Wesley raised his brows annoyingly. “What?” he laughed coolly.
“Don’t ever use that on me!” she was mad. “I’m not a whore!”
But Wesley, in his bid to anger her more, said slyly, “but I fucked you, baby. You liked it. You were screaming so fucking loud. I wonder if you truly can’t differentiate your boyfriend.”
He suddenly furrowed his brows like he was thinking of something while Daisy stared at him with wide eyes, fighting back her tears.
Then he continued sardonically. “You really wanted it last night. Why are you acting up now, huh…?”
But the smirk on the corner of his lips suddenly disappeared, and he froze slightly.
Daisy, who was initially staring at him with wide eyes, now had tears falling uncontrollably from her eyes.
‘Was what he said that hurtful?’
She wiped her tears continuously, but they kept falling. Wesley’s emotions went into conflict, and he suddenly felt guilty.
‘He had gone too far!’
He became surprised at himself.
He is never the type to talk so carelessly and disgustingly the way he just did, so what happened?
Daisy stared at him hatefully as she wiped her tears. She tried to talk, but she choked on her tears.
Soon, she cleared her throat and stared straight at him, not hiding the hatred and hostility in her eyes. Wesley’s face twitched upon seeing that.
“You can say whatever you want however you wish,” she chuckled bitterly. Then she stated, “I_ don’t_ care.”
She enunciated each word to his hearing that Wesley became disturbed, and a deep frown settled on his handsome face.
Just then, her phone rang. Casting a colder, hateful glare at him, she walked out of the room as she picked up the call, leaving him lost in thoughts.
Wesley was pissed. He felt both angry and conflicted.
She had walked out on him, spoke angrily at him, and even stared straight into his eyes to disrespect him. No one dared do that!
It made him wonder if she actually did not know him.
But he had gone too far with his words. He had been extremely reckless and talkative. His attitude was unlike him.
He felt different emotions tugging at him, and he began to feel even angry with himself.
He became so angry that he had the urge to hit something.
Daisy left the room after putting in a nose mask and a scarf.
Getting to the elevator that goes directly to the parking lot was a bit troublesome for her as she had to walk, hide and dodge like a thief. Since it was still the early hours, people did not seem to notice her.
She was lucky enough to take the elevator alone, and when she got to the parking lot, a car she immediately recognized as Rose drove towards her and parked right at the exit. Rose did it in a way that she would be stepping right into her car from the elevator.
Daisy felt so loved that she wanted to cry once more, but she had cried way too much that her eyes were puffy.
Without saying a word, Rose drove out of the parking space and hit the road.
After a few minutes, she glanced at Daisy and broke the silence. “You don’t have to cry, dear. This, too, will pass.”
Daisy let out a long sigh and stared at herself in the side mirror. Her eyes were extremely puffy, and she looked like shit. She could not help but shake her head.
She opened her mouth to say something, but Rose immediately stopped her.
“Don’t say anything for now. Don’t okay. I don’t want you crying again; it’ll break my heart.”
Daisy smiled sadly as she turned sideways to stare at Rose, who was driving.
Then she continued, “We’ll talk when you’re more settled. For now, I’ll take you to my place, the one outskirt of town.”
“Why there?” Daisy could not help but ask, though she had no plans of refuting.
“I just want you away from the outside world for now. I’ll take your phone too. When you get home, shower and sleep.”
Still staring at her as she drove, Daisy smiled sadly. She could not help but be thankful to God for sending Rose her way. If not, what would she have done in a situation like this when even Edward had turned his back on her?
She would have to see him when she was brave and sane enough.
Just then, her phone rang, and she brought up her phone to her face. Seeing it was Cindy, she sighed sadly.
She had totally forgotten to return her call when she saw her missed calls earlier.
What’s more, she’s still yet to call her dad and her kid sis. She’s sure they are highly disappointed in her, but she just has to come out clean, and they would believe her.
“You should have called Cindy. Cindy nearly destroyed my phone with calls,” Rose said as she glanced sideways at Daisy with a smile.
It was noon already, and the sun shone brightly above the city of South Yarra. It was as if even the heavens knew something had gone wrong, and they were enraged.
On the hot and bright afternoon, there was still a room devoid of light.
In it stood the cold female figure; Daisy’s arch-enemy.
On her face laid different expressions. She was mad, enraged, bitter, and disgusted.
She had lost the video she got from Josh the night before.
She never expected Josh to put a virus in the video to activate in hours.
The video would have crashed and destroyed her phone along if not that she had top expert engineers at hand.
Immediately Finn media took down the video, she had immediately contacted the media she had used to spread the video to repost, but they also had lost the video and even lost one of their storage files.
She never knew Josh would pull such a stunt on her. She so badly wanted to lay her hands on Josh and destroy him herself.
Seeing she had not got any news from the party she had sent to search for him, she took out her phone and made a call.
“What are you still doing? Why haven’t you brought him yet?”
The other end answered rather anxiously. “We’re on it and would definitely bring him to you,” he trembled.
“But didn’t I ask you to dump his body into the river after you killed him last night?” she scoffed.
“I did,” he replied.
“Then look for him, dead or alive, and bring him to me.”
She was so enraged that her reasoning had become bizarre.
Just when she would drop the call, she suddenly remembered something and said to the person on the other end, “I need you to hire internet ghostwriters to make nasty comments about Daisy and the video this morning. I want millions of them. I’ll send you some money now, so get to that.”
“I want her reputation and everything about her in the dust by night fall.”
