"Shit! ", Seth exclaimed, banging his foot on the wooden table after the system phrased those words of detriment. Gina on the other hand was stunned due to his impulsive actions. All of a sudden, he yelled so loud as though something was about to tear him into pieces.
However, Seth didn't want to notify Gina what happened. He turned to the direction opposing Gina's view and rested his head on his right arm which was positioned on the the cold wall by the room side. Yet, she overlooked his silence and instead, she decided to ask.
"What happened, Growing Savior?"
She stood up and walked close to him, putting on a surprised look. Seth indeed was down, judging by his physical acts. Gina knew that the cause of his actions was going to be nasty and complicated. But maybe, it could be solved with her being aware and assisting him. But still, she doesn't figure out what the main issue could be.
'Since he shouted just suddenly without any visible occurrence, then it should have been his system. Or, maybe he had forgotten something important back at the slaves' village', Gina thought.
Though, Seth had no urge in letting out a word at that instant. What he was pondering in his mind was how to perform his daily task before the day runs out. If he fails to do that, he would surely lose five good years from his lifespan which means he was going to turn eleven years of age.
As of now, he is sixteen and doesn't want to reverse any further. Going back to eleven was like a death sentence to him because he was pretty sure that he wasn't going to be potent enough to face some certain challenges with the Evil angels and also with the beasts.
"Common say something Seth", Gina said again, holding his right shoulder with a comforting expression. "Just... Just say something, whatever that could be, we can fix it. "
After these words, Seth was a little bit convinced to pour out what was bothering his willful mind. However, the only thing that made him intimidated to explain his current situation to Gina was the FEAR OF SHAME.
Sure, he knew Gina might react negatively after hearing what he did and was not ready to get slapped on his soft cheeks. But at least, he should try telling the loss without the cause.
Eyes dull, and face frowned, the moment Seth was about to say something. Gina's ears were itchy to hear what he was to say and that made Seth embarrassed with himself. Not because of her impatient peeks, but simply because of the contents of the words he was about to utter.
"I... I lost a year of my lifespan."
Truly, it was really shameful. Gina was about to burst into laughter. But after reckoning that it would only make him feel more depressed, she forced herself to scowl.
"And if I don't perform my daily task before the day runs out, I'm going to lose five years. Which makes me an eleven-year-old chap! Damn it!", Seth shrieked, bouncing his aging boot on the rocky floor.
"Okay! But why? Why would the system offer such punishment? You and I know that the Good system has rules that the user must obey", Gina said.
This question was heavy. Seth had no idea of what to answer. He wanted to keep the issues of his quirk a secret and didn't care for a hint against doing away with it.
'Uhh! It's so shameful. I can't tell you this', he thought, speechless.
Gina waited for a reply, but he refused to open up. Looking angry and disappointed she withdrew her hand from Seth's shoulder. "If you really want to keep it a secret... Fine! You can face it yourself."
She veered and walked away, back to the table. Seth was internally exhausted. As though trying to tear his face skin, he groaned in confusion and glanced back at Gina. He had no choice but to tell her. Maybe she could help. Like, she could find a way to save him from this mess he was trapped in.
"I'd went against the rules? I sinned for the second time", he turned and pointed at the rabbit meats: "You see that right there, that's my quirk. "
Gina's eyes widened the moment she heard those statements. Damn! His had been falling consistently for an ordinary meat.
'So this is what made him this weak. He is so unfocused', Gina thought before turning back. Sincerely, she was disappointed in the Growing Savior. What really could have made him a "punk!"
She didn't know what to say in response. Even the Growing Savior himself knew how disappointed she was. As angry as she was right now, he wouldn't dare to say any silly words anymore.
They stood like that for a long time, speechless. But at a point, Gina decided to break the silence.
"Was that what you were hiding from me? Why would you hide such a thing? Do you know you are consistently getting after a single sin?"
"I'm really sorry, I was a fool. I have always lived by rabbit meats all my life I'm addicted to it", Seth spoke with an apologizing tone.
'Wait, is she God? Why would I apologize to a human like me? A lass to be precise', this one was in his thoughts. Somehow, he saw that Gina wasn't worth an apology, she wasn't God or Good.
But externally, he was producing innocent looks as though he was truly sorry for being a relentless fool.
"Okay... I going to loan you some points. And, your daily task for today would be automatically conducted. Then, you will refund it back when you have earned a lot", Gina warned with a profound expression.
"What! Does your system do that?", Seth asked, stunned.
Then Gina chuckled and walked close again. "Sure. That's why you should work hard and upgrade your Dormant leveled system."
'Interesting. This is truly business'.
"Ummm... Why can't you just gift me instead of loaning me, I don't have time to track down points. What I only need is my Life. "
"You can't get life without working hard in this present world. Think boy! This is not a world filled with peace and freedom, it is a world where one must fight to even take a breath in. Nowhere is peaceful, every single region is ruined by Evil."
Before Seth could say something, she interrupted and added:
"If you think you can do without the Key and Status points, then you should be quipping with your weak self."
'Boring'.
Though, Seth was not moved by those pieces of information. Of course, he knew that the world had been ruined, but there was nothing they could do about it.
'We just have to keep escaping from one spot to the other. Maybe one day, it would be our turn to die', he thought, grimacing.
"I would gift you today, but next time, don't expect assistance from me again. That's concerning the addiction to your quirk. "
'Whatever! '
Seth nodded, though, not satisfied. Anyhow it goes, he was going to face his passions.
Suddenly, Gina opened her right palm and neared her eyelids. She inhaled, exhaled, inhaled, and then exhaled again. After that, he stretched her hands to Seth's chest and as usual, the command:
"I must gift 200 status points, 10 key points, and a daily task performance!"
Immediately, blond lights flashed out her palms, and sprinted into Seth's chest. Though, he felt nothing. But the system phrased to notify the transfer.
< 10exp, 200 pts, and a daily task privilege transfer are in progress. It will take some seconds before completion. >
'Screw it', he cursed in response to the system's words. He was mad at his system, but he truthfully knew that he was at fault. Trying to be angry is just a waste of time. And he also figured out that the system does not even mind.
After some time, the transaction was done. Gina clenched her fist and let out a sigh of relief as she walked back to the wooden table.
< Transaction complete. ×2 sin erased. >
< Key point: 1exp. >
< Status points: 190pts. >
"Yes! "
"Common, we have an important things to do. The Devils are launching a destruction spell on the Island and we need to study the stone marks to prevent being killed while running into Gazehelm."
Indeed, Seth was in the spirit of hearing that right now. The stone marks, Gazehelm pathway, Devils spell. BLAH! BLAH! BLAH!
All in all, he was back in his normal state of sociality.
"Really? Is the stone mark that iconic?", Seth asked, eager to get an answer.
They sat on the stools and Gina brought out an old book. Half of the book looked so geriatric that it had begun to fade. But, looking at the other half, it looked so new. However, the main question that was bothering him was what he wanted to ask.
"Have you studied it?"
"No. I've tried but I can't understand it. If I had, you wouldn't have seen me in Deadmouth till now", Gina muttered.
"And that means I can't too", Seth said, confused.
"No, you can. In fact, you are the only one who could study it. You are the one to take us away from this Island. My system told me that and I'm sure your system had revealed it to you. You are destined for the resurgence of the universe. That is why you are called the FATED REVIVER.
