章節 40: Chapter 40: Good News? Bad News?

**Endurance**, the personal quarters of a Space Marine.

**Now.**

"So, that's the gist of it."

"I see."

Mortarion succinctly relayed the current situation to Hades.

Hades sat on the bed, silently reflecting on Mortarion's words.

In essence, if Hades were to paraphrase Mortarion's words in his own way, it would be:

I am a Primarch, a rather formidable type of human.

My biological father, the Emperor, found me. He's an unmatched galactic warlord and Emperor, a human even more formidable than I. He plans to grant me a powerful interstellar legion and send me to liberate the galaxy.

We were both saved by him and are now aboard the starship he promised me.

By the way, the universe is what you'd call the celestial realm of Barbarus.

You've been transformed into a formidable Space Marine.

Don't worry. Once I have that powerful interstellar legion, I won't forget about you. Just tell me what you need.

Hades had expected Mortarion to give him a brief introduction to the universe, but Mortarion was more straightforward than anticipated.

On the surface, Hades pretended to be clueless, acting surprised at the key points Mortarion mentioned.

"Oh! My Emperor! So that's how it is! No wonder!"

These phrases, with varying tones, became his go-to reactions.

Hades made a mental note of the new terms Mortarion mentioned. He didn't want to accidentally reveal his knowledge as someone from another world. It was best to stick to the terms Mortarion used for now.

Later, Hades planned to research and familiarize himself with the lexicon of the Imperium.

Mortarion sat quietly, waiting for Hades to digest the information.

"By the way, due to the previous battle, your left brain and left eye…"

Mortarion gestured to the upper left side of his own face.

Right, Hades recalled being pinned by Necare with a scythe, causing a wound.

Subconsciously, Hades touched the left side of his head.

A metallic sensation, different from skin, met his fingertips.

Sigh.

Wait, what?!

Hades's pupils dilated in shock.

He hadn't realized something was amiss!

Noticing Hades's astonishment, Mortarion waved his hand, signaling someone.

In less than a minute, the door opened, and a servitor, holding a mirror, entered.

Thick cables protruded from the servitor's skin, meticulously arranged, giving a sense of organized beauty.

The servitor wore a moss-green uniform tailored to fit perfectly. A large Death Guard emblem and the Roman numeral XIV were printed on its back.

The male face was handsome, devoid of scars, with a series of numbers printed on his cheek.

The servitor, with a perfect smile, held the mirror and approached in an almost kneeling posture.

Although Hades, being from another world, knew of servitors in the Warhammer universe, seeing one in person still left him in awe.

*Giving the transmigrated a little Warhammer shock*.

Mortarion noticed Hades's gaze on the servitor. He took the mirror and dismissed the servitor.

"This is a servitor, one of their creations."

"I'm not particularly fond of them. They aren't truly human."

Mortarion handed the mirror to Hades.

Standing up, he said, "I'll wait outside, Hades."

"Take a moment to yourself. Later, I'll give you a tour of the Endurance."

The door closed.

Hades remained still.

The servitor had momentarily shocked him, but what truly concerned him was the realization that his psychic barrier, or "black domain", had receded beneath his skin!

He hadn't noticed his own condition due to the safe environment and his conversation with Mortarion.

Now alone, Hades realized the strangeness of his situation.

Looking in the mirror, the scar running through his left face, the red-glowing cybernetic eye, and the metallic sheen of his left brain stood out.

But he knew his black domain should insulate him from machinery.

For now, he set aside the question of whether his brain was mechanical.

Hades closed his eyes, focusing on sensing his black domain.

In the vast black space, a tiny black figure floated.

He tried to contract his black domain.

Unlike before, even though it had shrunk to an unprecedented size, he could still easily manipulate it, even changing its shape and compressing it further.

When it finally shrank to the size of a basketball, he couldn't compress it any more.

He then tried to expand it.

Initially, he was cautious, fearing it would touch his cybernetic half-brain. But as it expanded, he was shocked to find it couldn't breach his skin!

Why?!

He tried to forcefully expand it, but each time it reached his skin, it couldn't grow any further.

He then tried to make it touch the mechanical part of his brain.

As expected, it was trapped, unable to touch the mechanical half, confined to the right side.

Hades fell silent.

If his black domain was now confined beneath his skin, did that mean he could use machinery?

The good news was he could use machinery. The bad news was his black domain couldn't expand as before.

But he didn't know why he had been transported to this world or what the black domain was, or why these changes occurred.

He only knew that since he was here, he had to survive.

Although he didn't know what the black domain was, as long as it was useful, it was fine.

Suddenly, Hades was filled with self-doubt.

Was this all some sinister plot?

Wait, something felt off. Had he forgotten something?

Shaking his head, he felt foggy, as if sleep had dulled his mind.

Damn, was this really some sinister plot?!
