Teacher, "So, this situation in New York is caused by Eric. Should we help solve it?" Jean frowned as he listened to the news.
Alex shook his head and replied, "Seriously, what's our role in this? It's only when things hit the fan that we realize why there's a divide between good and bad, just like with Mutants."
"Eric plays the tough guy, Charles plays the peacemaker. Eric's Mutant Brotherhood causes trouble, while Charles' X-Men try to bridge the gap between mutants and humans. But let's be real, it's all nonsense. A wolf raised among dogs might act friendly, but deep down, it's still a wolf. Humans naturally fear what's different," Alex explained, his tone tinged with disdain.
"But, Teacher! Wolves can be cute! They're not always scary," Anya interjected, raising her hand.
Alex couldn't help but smirk. "Your ability to connect with animals is like something out of a fairy tale. But trust me, it's not easy to see the ferocity in them."
"Exactly! The people from Russia domesticate wolves into huskies. They're not afraid of wolves at all. Your analogy doesn't quite fit!" Kitty chimed in.
Alex's expression darkened. "I was just making a point with that analogy. No need to dissect it like that."
"Oops! Sorry, Teacher. We were just adding to the discussion," Kitty apologized sheepishly, nudging Anya.
Anna giggled, finding the banter amusing. It felt like being part of a family.
"But, teacher! If Charles and Magneto's ideas aren't right, are you going to solve this problem?" Anna inquired.
"Neither Kitty nor Anya has been persecuted by humans. It can be said they're still innocent, joyful," she continued.
"But Anna is different. Not only because her abilities hurt her classmates, but also because they hurt Mutants like Iceman Bobby and Kurt," Anna explained. "Finally, her abilities harmed an ordinary guy. She couldn't forget the fear and disgust in people's eyes."
"As for Eric kidnapping her and using her to bring New York into the radiation of the machine, the ones responsible for this situation weren't met with much hatred."
"Ah, it's actually very simple," Alex interjected. "Just build a country for Mutants. A place that's solely ours. The reason big countries wield power and status is their nuclear arsenal. But we Mutants are nuclear weapons ourselves, especially me, with my control over atomic troubles. I'm a human-shaped nuclear bomb. Wherever we go, nuclear fusion and fission follow. We could plant a few mushrooms on various borders. If I ask nicely, the heads of these countries would invite me over like grandparents."
The listeners chuckled at Alex's jest.
"It's not just me, Jean, Charles, and Eric. They are equivalent to nuclear bombs in terms of deterrence. Do you know about the Apocalypse catastrophe from over a decade ago?" Alex recounted, delving into the past.
"Ten years ago, back when we were just little tykes, we couldn't even tie our shoes properly. Come on, spill the beans, teacher!" Kitty nudged Alex's arm, her voice barely a whisper.
"More than a decade back, there was this catastrophic class mutant called 'Apocalypse.' He wiped out millions in Cairo alone, turning them into nothing but sand. And get this, he even conjured up a pyramid that's still standing tall in Cairo. Plus, it triggered a global nuclear scare, with countries launching nukes into space simultaneously. All of it orchestrated by Apocalypse through poor old Charles here," Alex revealed, dropping the bombshell.
"Wow! I never figured Charles for pulling off something like that!" Kitty exclaimed, wide-eyed.
"But, do you know why Apocalypse had his sights set on Charles?" Alex teased, a hint of mystery in his tone.
"Why? Tell us, tell us!" The girls' curiosity was piqued, eager for more.
"Because Apocalypse wanted to harness Charles's power to enslave the whole darn planet," Alex disclosed.
"And then what? What happened in the end?" Anya pressed for answers.
"Well, let's just say I sent Apocalypse packing with a snap of my fingers, turning him into a heap of sand!" Alex boasted.
"Aw, come on, teach! You're not fooling anyone with that tall tale!" Anya chuckled.
"Yeah, how could you possibly take down someone as powerful as Apocalypse?" Kitty chimed in skeptically, waving her hand dismissively.
Alex's expression darkened. These kids just couldn't wrap their heads around the truth. Did they really think he was making this stuff up?
