After determining that there are no other rooms to tour inside the headquarters, Shen Tian decided to step outside.

As soon as he stepped onto the porch, Shen Tian exhaled sharply. An expanse of green light indicating the safe zone greeted his eyes, making Shen Tian marvel at how big the safe zone is.

"I'm not very sensitive to land areas so I'm not going to ask how big this is."

Shen Tian felt like he had become an instant landowner with how big the green light's coverage is!

The headquarters building was surrounded by a short white fence and gate, so he walked out first. Seeing the dirt road, he decided to follow it until he reached the edge of the safe zone.

Getting closer to the edge, he saw a line of mesh fence that was about the height of two tall people. Looking left and right, the fence seems to surround the entire safe zone. The only place without the mesh fence is the end of the dirt road.

He felt a bit worried seeing the mesh fence and the open space where a gate could've been installed.

"System, is this mesh fence safe? Won't stronger zombies simply destroy this fence? And where's the gate?"

[[ Notification: Host, please don't worry. The mesh fence is indestructible not only by zombies but by human strength as well.

It's just for appearances so that survivors will know which areas are covered by the safe zone. After all, the host is the only one that can see the safe zone's green light.

The mesh fence will upgrade its appearance, including the appearance of a gate, once the base adds more buildings or expands.

Please, host, let's work hard to make that happen. ]]

"I see."

Shen Tian continued to observe the place. Seeing the slightly dense forest area outside the safe zone, he realized that this place may be a bit more remote than he expected.

Add that, there were no new zombies shuffling outside. Even the corpse of the three zombies he killed earlier can't be seen anymore.

Thinking about it, the area where he killed those zombies seemed to have been incorporated into the safe zone.

"Did the safe base expand?"

[[ Notification: That is correct. The current area covered by the safe zone is twice as large as the area of the temporarily activated safe zone. ]]

"So what happened to the zombie corpses?"

[[ Notification: The safe base has an auto-cleaning function specifically for zombie corpses. ]]

Shen Tian nodded in understanding.

"That's quite convenient."

Shen Tian circled around the place for a bit before getting tired. Feeling a wave of exhaustion filling up his body, he decided to head back to the headquarters and take a rest.

He took a bath first to freshen up. It's a good thing that the bathroom already had toiletries. Otherwise, he'd probably curse the system in his heart again.

Aside from the toiletries, he was also happy to realize that the closet had a few clothes for him. He put on a black shirt and cotton pants after deliberating what to wear.

Feeling comfortable, he walked into the kitchen and cooked rice and a bowl of noodles for himself. After running for his life and fighting against zombies for half a day and then doing a tour of the base for another half, his limbs have already gone soft because of his drained energy. The food just hits the spot right at the moment.

After his stomach was filled, he slovenly draped his body on the sofa in the living room, not wanting to move.

But before he completely fell asleep in this position, the system's voice rang again.

[[ Notification: Please, host, sleep in the master bedroom.

It is the host's responsibility to rest well when rest is allowed to recover the body from pain and fatigue. Otherwise, if the host gets sick because of negligence, it will be difficult to complete quests, which may lead to the failure of the mission.

Shen Tian's head twitched upon hearing that. Feeling helpless, he pulled himself off the sofa and trudged into the bedroom, ready to tuck into his bed for the day.
