Pain struck Aster like a thunderbolt. He let out a yell as everything went black and he fell down. He did not hear how much he was screaming due to his 5 senses being shut off.
His muscles felt hot as it wriggled and twitched, the reason being unable to cope with the massive amount of change happening.
A wildfire spread in his chest, giving him a burning feeling while his brain throbbed. He could not move and he felt extremely nauseated.
After an indescribable amount of time later, it stopped.
The screaming stopped and left an eerie silence in this godforsaken island. Aster laid with a flabbergasted expression on the ground.
The change was evident. His clothes felt a bit tight on his skin which meant that his muscle grew in size and his body felt perfectly in sync with his thoughts.
However, the biggest change was his senses.
His eyes zoomed in like a fucking telescope while still retaining a wide view, the ground felt completely different, he could smell and hear bunch of different things he had never smelled or heard but the changes didn't end there.
The feeling overloading his senses to the point of paralyzing wasn't things he had never felt before but rather a familiar friend.
Pain.
He was full of pain that he felt like was dying of it.
'How, literally how? The backlash from distributing points should be over now!'
He listened to his body and tried to figure out the source of the pain.
Tongue
His tongue was the source of the pain.
It seems he bit his tongue while falling down.
And the result was paralyzing pain.
'What? How is this possible?'
After some careful thinking he came up with a theory.
'Let's say a human has a pain receptor of 0 to 10. Pain resistance or immunity decreases the receptors. My pain immunity is at level 7 which means I have 85% immunity to pain. That translates to 1.5 maximum pain receptor for me.
Now the perception attribute. It measures my natural senses and that should include pain.
I don't know what the average perception attribute for a human but considering that 10 perception point bonus from the class hunter had a massive effect, it is not high. For the sake of convenience, I'm gonna say 10 on average.
My perception attribute is at 600… I should have 60 times more pain receptors than a normal human. Accounting my 85% pain immunity, my current pain receptor is 8.
The scale of 0 to 10 symbolizes how much a person can theoretically feel pain so I'm actually experiencing one of the worst pain a human can endure.
I wonder how am I so calm yet while on the verge of death? Am I becoming insane?
What would have happened if pain immunity didn't level up that much? Can a normal human brain possibly comprehend that much pain? A pain equivalent of fucking 600 units of pain on a scale of 0 to ten!?
Well, this is a fantasy world isn't it? I don't know what is and isn't possible. I have a freaking system for speaking out loud!
Maybe it wasn't a good idea to increase my perception attribute by almost 9 times.'
He turned over and threw up again. Nothing was left in his stomach hence only bile was evicted.
The stench coming from the vomit hit his now-ultra-sensitive nose and it combined with the taste which caused him to throw up again.
And again.
And again.
'Why am I so miserable?' He sobbed after crawling away. Even that was killing him.
In his ultra sensitive state, a touch from a woman could and would send him to heaven… or hell, wherever a judge retires to.
Thankfully, there was a silver lining in this uncomfortable situation.
