-(Pamela Isley)-
{It's been 2 days since I assisted in the birth of my Sporelings. It feels like 2 months though. (A.N. Get it!!!) My baby girls look like it's been months also, they are developing so fast. Rose, my Blonde-haired pale-skinned baby has a natural talent for communicating with the plants in the house. That took me years to develop.}
{Hazel, with her dark bushy hair and caramel skin, on the other hand, is much quieter. But she already displayed an amazing ability to grow and manipulate vegetation.}
{They are so similar to human babies, with different strengths and personalities. Rose has expressive green eyes and Hazel has a more observant look with her butterscotch-colored eyes. Both are currently crying for reasons I don't know. It is interfering with my ability to think.}
Pam scooped Hazel up and placed her inside a giant flower she called her Nannie plants. Rose was soon placed in another. "You will be safe here my little ones, while I go clear my head."
{I miss Logan. I wonder how I am going to break it to him that I am now a family package. We haven't done more than go on a date yet. Umm... His speech about ravaging me like an animal still gives me tingles when I think about it. I could use a de-stressor like that about now.}
Pam ran her hand along her stomach and up over her breasts, her nipples hardening a bit at the thought of Logan. She walked to her bedroom and grabbed her phone.
[You busy today? I could use a walk under the sun and some more conversation about the Garden]
After texting Logan, she proceeded to get dressed hoping he would reply soon.
-(Logan)-
Logan was walking around his mental defenses and pondering on how he could improve them. Morph was walking beside him in random shapes, he was just having fun when Logan realized something. {Why make it so easy for someone entering his head to find his mental castle in the first place? It sticks out like a sore thumb in this desert plane.}
{This is my head so I can make whatever I want to, right?} Sitting down he started to imagine a forest around himself. The type you see in the movies about the Congo. As soon as Logan had a patch of trees, about an acre's worth, he felt a drain on his mind and had to stop for a moment to catch his breath.
As Logan sat there recovering, he had a wicked smile on his face. These trees weren't just any tree, he made them so they would emit an invisible gas that would numb the mind of anyone but him and those he allowed entry. It would start slowly and just build over time until it was too late, and you simply forgot what you wanted to do.
His next idea was to add animals to his outer defense. Nothing too grand, just enough to look like a solid defense and make intruders expend energy to get past them and at the same time, quicken the pace of the numbing poison.
The gas would start out faint but the closer you got to his mental castle the stronger it would become. {I think I will also find a way to make my castle walls absorb mental energy that is not mine to strengthen itself. That way even if an intruder got there, they would just be strengthening the defenses.}
With his mental strength exhausted, he exited his mental world and got up to start lunch.
Hearing the ping of a text message, he went back to grab his phone only to stop when he saw it was from Pam.
[Sure, I was just about to make some lunch. Want to meet up somewhere then go visit our favorite tree in Crown Park?]
Pam responded with an address to a restaurant near the park and just put 20 min after it. Logan morphed his clothes into something a little more fashionable and went out to his bike. It took him about 10 minutes to get there and on not seeing Pam's Ducati he assumed he was first.
He went in and requested a table next to the window and told the staff that he was waiting for a beautiful redhead on a Ducati bike named Pam. He sat down and ordered two waters and settled in to wait for her arrival.
After about 10 more minutes she pulled up and came inside. The staff directed her to our table and Pam took off her thin riding jacket to reveal a tube top shirt that looked like it would slip down any second and reveal the secrets it held. It took him a few minutes to stop staring enough to look over the menu again, having completely forgotten what he wanted to order.
Had he looked up at that moment he would have seen Pamela with a sly look on her face and a mysterious look in her green eyes. She stuffed the jacket into her helmet and placed it on an empty chair at the table. As they waited for their food Pam asked, "What have you been up to the past couple of days?"
"I have been working on my training, my body has so much potential that it's hard to focus on one attribute to increase. I am focusing on my mind right now. Also, I am looking at everything I can find on genes and their mutations. I have a theory that the specific portion of genetic mutation is basically a connection to another plane of existence. Their genetic placement on the plane would be what gives their mutation power."
"So, if we take you for example, your connection to The Green is at a genetic level and your work on unlocking that power increases your connection to that plane. Thus, increasing your power"
Logan lowered his eyes at that point and pushed some food around his plate. "Sorry, it's just a theory and a very basic one at that."
Pam smiled at him, "It is a very sound idea. I have seen lifetimes wasted on theories far more ridiculous. But proving it is going to be a monstrous task, and you may have objections to your work from Meta humans and regular humans both. You will also need to watch out for the government types wanting your results. You must admit that if you can prove your theory then you could also find a way to enhance that connection in people as well as doing the reverse."
Pam added her thoughts as an experienced researcher. Who has had a few of her ideas taken advantage of.
"What about you Pam? What have you been up to the last couple of days?"
"I will save my experiences for our walk in the park," she said mysteriously. {What the hell am I going to tell him? Think stupid brain!}
"I know I am saying it a bit late, but you look...ravaging today. Truly beautiful."
Pam felt her heart skip a beat and blushed at the compliment. She knew he liked her outfit by his gaze earlier, but hearing the sincerity in his voice turned it up a level as far as complimenting her.
The waiter appeared and asked, "Would you like to order dessert or drinks?"
Logan gave a questioning glance at Pam who shook her head. "No thank you, I believe we are ready for the check." Once Logan paid, both he and Pamela went out to their bikes. Pam put on her light riding jacket, so the wind didn't show any assets to the wrong people.
Once they made it to the park, they locked up their bikes and helmets. "Hopefully it's not the same crowd waiting for us when we get back this time."
Pam just laughed. But her amusement stopped abruptly when Logan put his hand in hers and asked, "Would you like to walk the path for a lap or two before heading to the tree?"
Pam felt like a teen again, back when it was risky for anyone to see a girl and boy holding hands. When she thought about it, she never really did hold a man's hand. Jason played with her body when he needed a stress release from his work, and she convinced herself that that was what love was. She never saw her parents holding hands in public.
{Have I ever held anyone's hand like this before?}
Logan seemed to be enjoying the quiet walk as Pam was lost in her own thoughts. He finally broke it on their second lap of the paved trail. "Are you ok? You have been awfully quiet since we arrived. I do believe you mentioned you would tell me about your last few days once we got here."
Pam blushed furiously, "I am sorry, the new experience of... You know what, never mind. Let me ask a question first, please. What are your thoughts on children, do you hope to have any?"
