章節 1735: -1716- He's here

The message brought by Dyne was undoubtedly good news.

At least, it was for those present.

"That's great!"

"With Shinon here, we'll definitely be able to successfully snipe faster than anyone else!"

"Yeah!"

"Awesome!"

The team members of the squad began to get excited.

Even Shinon felt a rare flutter in her heart.

Because this was the situation she had been hoping for.

"Are you sure no one will act before the sniper's first shot?"

Shinon confirmed with Dyne.

"I'm sure."

Dyne nodded firmly.

Shinon curled the corners of her mouth.

If that's the case, then she wouldn't have to worry about Rozen being snatched away by someone else.

Before the first shot is fired, Shinon still has a chance to compete with Rozen.

As long as she succeeds in the sniping, this time it would be her victory.

"We're all counting on you. Please make sure to succeed."

Dyne specially reminded her.

"I know."

Shinon replied briefly and then laid down again, focusing on her sniper rifle.

"The rest of you will stand by until the first shot is fired. Remember, we must not expose ourselves or fire any shots before the first sniping."

Dyne turned to the other members, giving them instructions.

"Understood!" the four team members immediately responded.

The others then quickly hid behind their cover, lowering their voices and concealing their figures, eliminating all presence.

At the same time, it seemed that the surrounding players were also receiving the same instructions and were quickly hiding, making it hard for them to be detected.

The entire Marion Canyon became eerily quiet, with no one making a sound.

All the players were observing their surroundings, especially the passage below, trying to spot the enemy's movements.

Shinon was doing the same, watching through her scope, her eyes focused on the passage ahead.

Before long...

"He's here!"

When one of the team members, using a tactical scope from behind a rock, noticed the approaching enemy, a tense atmosphere immediately filled the air.

Shinon also perked up, quickly adjusting to a prone firing position, bringing her face closer to the high-magnification scope, and soon saw the distant passage.

There, a figure both unfamiliar and familiar gradually appeared, coming into Shinon's view.

A small and slender figure, much like Shinon herself, slowly walked toward them, the hem of their cloak fluttering in the wind.

Shinon could see that the figure was wearing a set of tactical gear that looked simple yet had an air of refinement, with a long coat draped over their shoulders and a rifle on their back, like a battle-worn warrior, drawing the attention of all who gazed upon them.

Many people had already seen screenshots online and recognized the appearance of the target character, so it was immediately clear that this was the person they had been waiting for.

"Finally, he's here."

Dyne whispered.

"Is that Rozen, the 'Magus'?"

"This is the first time I've seen him in person..."

"I can't believe he managed to get such a rare character avatar."

"His account has been around since the SAO days, of course, he could get such rare avatars."

One of the team members whispered as they watched.

Shinon, however, focused on other details.

"It looks like his gear has changed again..."

These past few days, Shinon had been keeping track of Rozen, seeing daily screenshots online and noting the changes in their equipment.

For example, on Rozen's first day in GGO, they wore field gear when they left the circle, but now they were wearing a much more unusual tactical outfit, showing a clear upgrade in their equipment.

This wasn't surprising.

"After getting so many spoils from other players, hunting in the wild all this time, and having the ability to do RMT, how could he not upgrade his gear?"

Dyne confirmed this through his own scope, and instead of being worried, he smiled with satisfaction.

"However, the better their equipment is, the more we'll gain. Looking at his current gear, even just a random piece of it could sell for a huge profit."

Despite being timid and lacking guts, Dyne was still the 18th place finisher in the last BoB competition, so his sharp eyes were still valuable.

Others may not be able to tell, but Dyne was certain that each piece of Rozen's current gear was worth at least 1 million.

In other words, Rozen's entire outfit was worth at least a million per item.

For the hunters hoping to get their hands on Rozen's gear, this was obviously great news.

The other players were also excited.

"This is definitely a big catch."

"I heard Rozen sold a ton of gear recently in Glocken and made a fortune. He probably used that money to buy this gear."

"The gear they sold came from the players they killed, and now we're just reclaiming it."

"Look, the surrounding guys are getting excited, they can't wait anymore."

The four team members whispered among themselves.

As they said, the surrounding players had all noticed how valuable Rozen's gear was and were now visibly excited, making noise.

Only Shinon, looking at Rozen's steadily approaching figure, couldn't help but feel a trace of doubt.

"Since he already have such high-level gear, why is he still carrying just a regular rifle?"

Rozen's rifle looked like something from a weapon shop, nothing special.

Despite having the ability to equip high-level gear, why would Rozen still be using a weapon from a shop?

Shinon wondered about this.

But no one else noticed this detail.

"Alright, stop talking. The target is now only 2200 meters away from us. Get ready to move."

Dyne spoke up.

"As we discussed earlier, everyone standby. Shinon, prepare for the shot. The timing is up to you. If you succeed, that's great. If you fail, we'll move in and open fire immediately. Got it?"

"Understood!" the four team members replied one after another.

"Understood."

Shinon gave a brief response and then placed her right eye back on the scope.

Looking at the figure that was steadily approaching, Shinon suppressed her rising excitement, thrill, and eagerness, starting to calm down.

From now on, Shinon would have to face the pressure and isolation of being a sniper all alone.

The bullet she fired would have a significant impact on the entire situation.

All she could rely on now were her fingers and the sniper rifle in her hands.

Shinon's hand slid over the cold, rigid body of the massive rifle.

The cold metallic sensation immediately passed through her body.

Gripping the gun firmly, Shinon's heart quickly settled.

Confidence began to rise.
