King Alfonso of the Philippines sat on his throne, reading a message from the British Government. It was a request for negotiations, but Alfonso knew that the British were only trying to stall him. He had already given them his ultimatum: withdraw from Malaysia or face the consequences.
Alfonso thought, "Malaysia is not their land. In fact, almost all of the land in Southeast Asia is not owned by European countries. Hence, anyone can freely oust them if they have the capability, and since I and the Philippines have that capability, let me do the honor."
Alfonso chuckled in his mind.
Alfonso crumpled the message in his hand and tossed it into the fire. He then turned to his Prime Minister, Sergio, and gave them their orders. "Inform the British Government, Prime Minister, that I reject their request," he said. "We will continue with the occupation of Malaysia."
