章節 8: Chapter 8: Choto matte

Ok, first. I know I didn't post a chapter for the past few weeks, reason being I had my mid-sem exams, and they take first priority for me. With that over, I will continue with a chapter a week and maybe an extra chapter next week. Anyway, enjoy!

I make my way towards one of the empty workstations and the girl joins me.

"Hey can you give me a few pages and a quill please. I forgot about them." I request her as I didn't want to give Snape a reason to single me out.

"Getting roasted alive surely didn't help that part of yours. Here." With that jab she hands me the pages and the extra quill.

Snape surely didn't disappoint with his entry, still as theatric as ever. He quietly moves to the front and starts taking the attendance.

'So her name is Padma, good to know.'

"Since we covered all the precautions and necessary tools last time it's time you start with brewing your first potion-The Cure for Boils Potion. The instructions are written on the board. Now the time for brewing this potion is about 45min, which means you dunderheads get 2 attempts to get this potion right. Now begin."

With that we instantly all move to the front to select our ingredients. I try and choose the ones which look to be in the best condition to my untrained eye.

I try and start the preparation of the potion with the simple step of boiling the water....

'Somethings not right, it is supposed to be sky blue not deep blue.' I scratch my head trying to figure out where I made a mistake in the recipe,

"When the instructions say four tablespoons of fangs, it doesn't mean to create a hill on the spoon and then add it, limit how much you take at once."

I barely keep myself from jumping at the sudden voice from my back, which if I'm not wrong belongs to Snape.

'I sure as heck didn't expect him to be the helpful kind, aww is he actually a tsundere?'

"Thank you, Professor." Better to be polite this time.

He doesn't say another word and just goes away to save a student who just somehow managed to overflow his concoction.

"You said he will chew you out, that didn't seem like it." Padma comments from the side.

"I thought he would, it would make much more sense if he would. So why didn't he?.... never mind, let us not fret over minute details."

I get back to work and start over from scratch. This time while keeping in mind Snape's advice.

50min later I have the final potion in front of me. 'looks similar enough to the picture in the book, let's get it verified.'

I walk over to Snape with my potion vial in hand.

"Hmm, a decent attempt from a greenhorn I suppose." Snape judges while staring at my potion,

At his praise( I consider it praise. He's Snape, the fact that he didn't outright criticize me is enough) a small smile begins to bloom on my face. Which I suppose he took note of because he is quick to deflate it.

"But still not something I would ever recommend anybody to drink. I expect 11 inches on ways to improve the efficiency of this potion by next week. And I expect it to be something not copied from another book."

'Choto matte, cho-ch-choto fucking matte. Extra work! I knew he wouldn't let it go. So that's his way of getting back at me.'

I nod my head and go back at my station and wait for class to end. After 15min it finally does so we all pick our things and begin leaving the classroom.

"So what are we gonna do now." I look to my right to see Padma talking to me.

"First, fill our bellies, then think about other things later." With that we make our way towards the great hall where I'm again left wondering about what to eat.

'I am too tired to think, lets just go with the tried and tested.'

*knock knock* "Fried rice, extra spicy and apple juice."

"Make that two." Said Padma from my side. 'Did not expect that.' "Ok make that two."

5 min later we were served with our food. My brain may screw me over many times but it atleast gets the taste right.

'Now that we have, as Dumbles would say, been fed and watered, what to do.'

"Let's just go to the library, I can't think of anything else." I say to my companion beside me.

"Ok, have you seen the library here? It seems so enormous and grand. And we can-"

"Come lets go, I will hear you talk on the way there." 'Asking a Ravenclaw about the library, what

was I thinking?'

We spend the next few hours in the library reading. I continued with my book, learning all the theory about the spells written there. 'If my brain wants realism, I'll give it realism. Reading about a spell beforehand should be somewhat useful.'

Padma meanwhile picked up a book on transfiguration to complete the homework given by McG. Just thinking about how that bitch made me waste my time on useless theory make me angry.
