“But…your deck is a little weird.”
Tan narrowed his eyes and looked at his friend. “You mean it’s crappy?”
Blanche laughed. “Yeah…it’s crappy,” with a straightforward personality, he replied.
Tan did not mind it at all as he grew accustomed to his new friend. He smiled back and looked at his deck. “Yeah, totally crappy.”
It was then that three wolves approached them. Tan smiled and rushed to them with his new deck which included the cards he got so far.
This time, the duo effortlessly took down their enemies. Seeing another group approaching, Tan immediately rushed to them as he was craving for more. As the two were going to end the last wolf’s life, Tan noticed that its fur was lighter in color than the others, and it was performing a strange move at the moment. He yelled at Blanche who was about to take away its life.
“Blanche, wait! It’s acting weird.”
He was right. The Black Wolf began to growl. After its growl echoed around, three wolves suddenly rushed to join up.
“It can call for allies. That’s awesome,” he proclaimed and sneered.
“Awesome? Do you want it to keep calling for allies?” Blanche smiled. Assisted by Tan, he got a lot of strong cards.
“Hell, yeah!” Tan replied and ran to the group of newcomers. Soon, they were all executed, leaving behind the pale wolf. Of course, the duo let it continually call for allies. Finally, Blanche’s sword landed on the fiftieth wolf…
Players have successfully cleared the condition: slay fifty wolves without stop. Level 34, 5-star, Wicked Wolf, the boss of the Black Forest has appeared!
The system voice sounded. Blanche turned his gaze to Tan. “Oh, heck…We accidentally cleared the condition of a special boss,” Blanched said as he looked around.
Tan was the first to notice the monster as he kept looking at the pale wolf who had escaped and disappeared into the woods. It was the same path that a giant wolf who stood about sixteen feet appeared.
Its bloody red eyes stared at the duo. The wolf showed its white fangs and let out a threatening growl before it roared out…and rushed to the two.
The Gambler’s skill has activated…
Hearing the system voice, Tan raised his eyebrows. “Darn it! Hold your horses! I’ve got a dog to deal with.” Blanche was confused by what he said.
“What’s wrong?” Blanche asked as he summoned equipment and monsters, 3-star Mercenary and 2-star Spirit Armor. At the same time, the Wicked Wolf called for its pack mates—five wolves appeared.
“I got lucky,” Tan murmured as he saw changes in his status. His HP was reduced to half, but his MP and SP were increased by half.
“Equip! Equip! Summon! Summon! Summon!”
He summoned a 2-star iron armor, a 2-star Black Wolf, a 3-star Wild Boar, and a 4-star Fire Cat respectively.
“Speed Boost!”
Tan activated his Job’s skills he would not normally use as it consumed both SP and MP, however, with his Class’ skill giving a boost to his SP and MP, he had nothing to worry about.
“Regen!”
Blanche did not use the skill for himself, but he noticed that his friend's Max HP was reduced due to an unknown reason.
“788!”
The giant wolf attacked the 3-star Wild Boar with its teeth, sending the latter to heaven. A voice suddenly rang out.
“This is bad!” It was Tan's voice. “Is it a dog or a bull?” He muttered as he constantly swung his sword at the group of wolves.
Not too long before all wolves had been taken down. The duo lost their Wild Boar, Fire Cat, and Black Wolf.
“Buy me time,” Blanche shouted. Tan did not know what his friend was trying to do but he trusted his pal. Tan immediately summoned the weapon he prepared for when he had low HP.
“Equip!”
Having shouted that, a crossbow and arrows appeared in his hands. He retreated and attacked from afar to prevent any direct damage as he currently had half of his original HP.
“255!”
“257!”
“254!”
The crossbow was not as powerful as melee weapons, but it could perform quick and consistent attacks. As the wolf targeted Blanche, Tan took this opportunity and shot his arrows rapidly at the monster.
“Regen!” Blanche used his remaining MP to cast a skill on himself. His HP gradually recovered; however, his health had reduced to half.
“Almost!” Blanche roared. Noticing his friend was in danger, Tan activated his only remaining card.
“Item!” A second-level health potion recovered Blanche's HP to 70%.
“574!” Blanche was hit by the Wicked Wolf's claw. He was left with a very low HP.
“Blanche!” Tan shouted. He rushed to the wolf and performed a melee attack, drawing its attention to him. At that moment, Blanche's MP had recovered back to a certain amount.
“Summon!” He roared. His entire MP was consumed to activate the strongest card he had.
…A golden card, Captain Igfes, a 4-star warrior-type card.

Captain Igfes (4 stars¶¶¶¶)
----------------
Type: Summon
----------------
Race: Warrior-Knight Element: Earth
----------------
A captain of an army of knights in a borderland who wields a thin sword.
- When Captain Igfes appears, his skill, ‘Command’ will be activated. All stats of the allied Warriors and Knights will be multiplied by 2 times for 30 seconds.
----------------
“Command!” The captain summoned by Blanched roared. Suddenly, Blanche’s, and his summons’ bodies—Mercenary and Spirit Armor—were illuminated by light.
Covered with light, Blanche dashed to the Wicked Wolf and slashed through its gigantic body with his sword.
“840!”
“840!”
“840!”
At the same time, Tan rapidly shot out his crossbow. He was not aware that although Captain Igfes was a 4-star card, it was a golden 4-star card that had a higher rarity than other 4-star cards. When being summoned, the ‘Command’ skill would be activated, giving a boost to allied warriors and knights by two times for 30 seconds; the skill affected Blanche too as he was a Knight. He became so much more powerful.
“840!”
With that attack, the wolf fell to the ground. His Mercenary and Spirit Armor were executed by the wolf’s powerful attacks, even though their stats were multiplied by two times.
Tan prepared to shoot another arrow at the weakened wolf on the ground. Before he could do as planned, the pale grey wolf that ran away before leaped towards the Wicked Wolf, intended to protect the big wolf from all harm.
“Wait!” Blanche shouted.
“What?!” Hearing that, Tan gasped. He realized that his friend was being serious after he saw Blanche put away his sword and called back his Summons.
“But it’s the freakin boss! You will level up like a lot if we kill him, plus the drops will be no ordinary.” Tan tried to convince his friend as his greed had won over his kindness.
Well…most people would act like this.
“Please let it go, the pale one is probably its son,” Blanche said calmly and gestured for the Wicked Wolf to go away.
“It’s just data though!” Tan kept on complaining.
However, it was too late, not because the Wicked Wolf had escaped, but because the condition of the Black Forest’s Area Quest was cleared. The system voice then sounded.
Player Blanche and Player Tanthai have cleared the quest ‘Kindness Soul’ by attacking the Wicked Wolf until it nearly died but decide not to kill and let it go. With that, the condition to unlock the Black Forest’s Area Card has cleared. Player Blanche has been rewarded with the Black Forest’s Area Card, Class H.
Player Blanche has received a Class H Area Card, ‘Black Forest,’ and is now the owner of a resting spot in the Black Forest area. 10% of the spot’s revenue will be automatically transferred to your digital account.
Afterward, the announcement that was made at the end of every battle rang out.
Player Tanthai and Player Blanche have received 12,250 EXP from taking down 50 Black Wolves and the secret boss, Wicked Wolf. The players have also received nine 3-star Black Wolf cards, a 5-star Wicked Wolf card, thirty-two wolf fangs, and 43,045 Gil. Player Tanthai has risen to level 28. Player Blanch has risen to level 19.
“Wait!” Tan shouted as his eyes widened. Blanche was still confused with the situation.
“Area Card…” Blanche murmured. Rushing towards Blanche, Tan draped his arm around his friend who stood almost four inches taller than him.
“Where is it? Let me see the Area Card.” Tan asked excitedly.
“Over there,” Blanche said as he looked around. Tan followed suit and realized he was still in the Black Forest, but when looked to the west, the duo saw a small house that surely was not there before.
“What’s that?” Tan first asked.
“Perhaps our resting spot the system mentioned,” Blanche answered as he led his friend to the spot…
