The girls were somewhere in Drasehult Hill District but a place where no one could find them. They had just arrived at their new home which was a state-of-the-art house. As the car drove into a place that looked like a garage, the driver of the exotic car pressed a button and the elevator-like garage began to ascend into the building.
The driver glanced behind him and at the two adorable girls that were fast asleep on the back leather seats and he smiled – his lips stretching in an awkward manner and a little farther than the usual smile would go. However, he knew that he would have to wake them up pretty soon because he wouldn't like for them to be asleep for long as their play time was near.
The car elevator stopped and the driver got down with a wince. His left leg had pain since the incident with his uncle all those years ago and it had never completely healed. He cursed under his breath as that memory always came back whenever he felt that pain.
Another button made the glass that separated the car elevator from his living room go up and he stepped into his sitting room, dropping his glasses and taking off his wristwatch. He went back to the car and opened the boot, taking out a liquid and a cloth. Then he proceeded to pour the liquid over the cloth, walked back to where the girls were, and stood there for some seconds staring at them.
"So beautiful in their sleep," he muttered under his breath, throwing his head backward with a shriek of laughter escaping his throat. He could barely contain his excitement and hurriedly paced the cloth over the girls' noses – one after the other.
One of the twin girls winced and stretched as her eyes fluttered open while she blinked severally. Her hand went to her head as she felt a pain there and she began to cry.
"Hush now…" he said with an exaggerated soft tone as he rubbed her hair backward.
Then the second girl opened her eyes and looked around frantically. "Wh-Where's my mommy?" she asked while she scratched at her eyes which were adjusting to being opened after a drug-induced sleep.
"Hmph," he scoffed. "Mommy is not here right now…but Daddy is here!"
"Daddy?!" the second girl squealed, removing her hand from her eyes and looking around quickly. She started to leave where she was in the car so that she could come down altogether, not even asking her sister why she was crying. All that was on the child's mind was seeing her father.
"Oh no oh no," he said as he shook his head, while the girl tried to push past him.
"I'm Daddy…" he said with a laugh. "Did you think- Oh you must have thought that your-" he laughed hard again.
"I'm your daddy…" he said. "Now, come down and follow me into the house. You will meet other friends here, darlings! I'm building a family for us… one that can never be broken…"
He went ahead and grabbed the girl that had already gotten down from the car by the hand in a violent and rough manner that she yelled out in pain. The way he tugged at her hand made it difficult for her feet to be balanced on the ground.
Bending his tall and overly lanky frame a little, he stuck his head in the car and yanked out the girl that was still crying inside.
"There's no need to cry so much…" he said. "But if you feel like letting it all out, you can."
He wasn't worried about sounds, shouts, or cries being heard. He had employed someone to get the whole house soundproofed. That way, he was rest assured that no one would hear anything from outside. It gave him some peace of mind.
Now, both the girls were crying when he stepped into the living room and pushed them unto the sofa that was there.
"You both will have to stop the annoying sounds pretty soon. Playtime is almost here and we can't have you with those messy tears everywhere…"
"I want my mommy!" one of the girls said.
"Your mommy is dead, my dear…" he said as he bent down, placing his hands on his knees to wage him. He looked directly into their faces with a maniacal smile on his face. The shock, surprise, and confusion that he could see on the faces of the children gave him pleasure that he couldn't put into words. His legs twitched as he stood upright again and clapped his hands together.
"I want to go home!" the girl who had been crying earlier said with her face full of snort and dried and wet tears.
He turned around and in a swift movement, reached her and smacked her across the face – hard. He watched as her hands went to her face and her lips quivered before she opened her mouth and began to wail again with visible blood at the corner of her lips.
The other girl had been silent and was watching with her eyes widened. She was visibly trembling but nothing – not even a cry came out of her mouth. She shifted nervously on the chair that the man had put her and placed her hand on the shoulder of her sister.
"Good good…" he said. "Tell her not to cry as there is no need for that!" he continued as he walked to the other side of the living room – where looked like a bar of some sort but no drinks or bottles were there. The place was stacked with stuffed toys, dolls of different colors and sizes, and boxes of cereals as well. He picked up a remote control that was on the counter of the bar area and pressed it and with a click sound, the air conditioner in the living room came on.
"Y'all would need this… there is no opening anywhere," he said with a high-pitched chuckle.
