Time quickly passed as Alex alternated between memorising, practicing and playing chess. He didn't know how many times he did them but he knew that he had achieved his goal when he could recall everything he had studied even after playing a thousand chess matches in a row.
The amount of calmness he felt was something he had never experienced before as he had always been on the move trying to learn stuff, make things and in the end earn some money for the little amount of time he spent in the world.
Having almost infinite amount of time to spend, he was at peace and his current state of mind was something he wanted to keep as it helped him think more efficiently.
"Time to go back home…. Angel? I'm done here."
The moment he completed his sentence, he felt his consciousness slip and loud voices of children entered his ears. He was about to open his eyes but stopped when he saw writings in the darkness.
[Sin of Sloth: Acting as a normal student will give u points while extra work such as running out late at night to work or conduct mischievous deeds will dock off points.
A simpler explanation is that you can have hobbies, study moderately, play games and have fun with your friends but you cannot break school rules on your own accord nor act against Harry Potter on your own accord.
You don't have to worry about gaining more points as you already earned close to infinity in your first year. But I do have to warn you that if you slack off and make even a single mistake, the other angels will do their best to cut off most if not all the points you earned in your first year.
A personal tip from me: You can break a few rules here and there but don't get too involved with Harry or his close friends such as Ron. You are free to act against your opponent but it has to be indirect. For this year at least.
Sin of Sloth will take effect from tomorrow's sunrise so prepare for the year before hand.
From,
Your assigned angel.]
Alex read it all and opened his eyes, only to see Aman glance at him for a second before he turned away to look at a small kid who ran over to the Slytherin table.
While Aman happily looked around, Alex was deep in thought as he had to change his grand plans.
Tapping the table in front of him lightly, he thought 'Keeping the diary with me will cause too many changes if I don't act later on… especially Dobby. Him being with the Malfoys will take off the extra lifeline that Harry has… and for some reason I don't want him under the Malfoys.
I also have to cancel all my study sessions with those two women… what are their names again? Ummm, oh well. Who cares.
Sloth really is kind of annoying but on the brighter aspect, I get to spend more time with Aman and hopefully make more friends. I have to change my mindset of trying to do everything alone since it is better to use others instead... at least this year.
It would've been better if I got sloth in my fourth year though… atleast I would've been able to enjoy the show from the sidelines.'
He sighed before getting back to his own thoughts, only to be brought back to reality when lots of food spawned right in front of him.
The food was good but Alex didn't fill himself up and only ate how much was required as he looked around to see every single student stuffing themselves with food.
Everything went on like the year before except that he could actually enjoy his food and go to his dormitory peacefully. Aman and the others fell asleep while Alex simply waited.
At exactly eleven, he walked out as he cast the disillusionment charm on himself. The common room was empty but Alex still wanted to get to a safer place.
'One small work right now will save me a lot of trouble this year…', he thought as he entered the room of requirements.
"Toffy!"
*Pop*
"Bring me the book that I hid at home. The one I gave u after I came home from all the shopping. No, wait… uh wear this and place this book inside Ginny's trunk. She's a Gryffindor first year and a Weasley. After you do that, bring me some of her hair strands. Make sure you don't get caught."
Alex said as he took the stealth suit that he had bought in China and manipulated it to fall onto the ground. The elf looked at his master and nodded.
"Master, you don't have to worry. We elves can only leave when both parties want the bond cut off. The humans have an advantage in this as the elf has to fulfill a condition that has to be initiated by the other party which is receiving any type of clothing from their master.
There are three situations where the contract can be broken and the first one is where the master wants the elf gone. In this situation, there is nothing that the elf can do other than walk out. This is the most common situation among all.
The second situation is where the elf tricks its master to get some form of clothing to break the contract and frees itself. This is pretty rare along with the third situation where both the parties would want to break the contract and this one is rarer than the second.
There is also a chance of the ancient contract weakening but this only happens if an elf is treated badly by their masters and this is the main cause for the second case.
There is a fourth situation where neither of the parties would like to break the contract and that is what matters the most, their desires. I would like to believe that the situation we are in is the fourth situation, master."
"That makes things way easier…. I never knew that…" 'This shows that there are things that aren't included in the so-called knowledge pack that I got from the angel' Alex thought as he nodded and gave Toffy a bronze bracelet before placing a few charms on it.
Toffy wore the suit and disappeared from his original place, only to appear back at the same location with a fistful of hair after a few minutes.
