Yoda caught up to Gavin as he was packing his things and preparing to leave. "Have a plan, do you, hmm?" He asked, not wanting his apprentice to run off half cocked. Yoda hoped that he might also be able to convince him to stay.
"Yes Master I do." Gavin responded. he then handed 4 communicators to Yoda. Yoda looked on in confusion. "These are set to a secure frequency. If you need me, I will help. But I do so of my own choice. The communicators are for you, Master Obi Wan, Anakin, and Ahsoka."
"Change your mind you will not?" Yoda said sadly.
Gavin paused, packing, looking at the little green alien.
"Master, I can not stand by and watch. We are not generals. The public already fears us because we lock ourselves away in the temple. You sense it as well. This war is a trap that might very well destroy the Jedi." Gavin spoke.
Yoda nodded. "Welcome back, you will always be."
Gavin left Corscant that night on a shuttle heading to the outer rim. By morning, the temple was abuzz with his departure. No one knew where he had gone. More than a few wish they they could follow, agreeing that Jedi were not military.
Palpatine and Dooku, upon learning of his departure, set their spies to locate him, hoping to turn him against the order and use him to help complete their plans. They became frustrated when Gavin seemed to vanish like a ghost.
Time Skip a few weeks....
Gavin had taken a shuttle to Tatooine to Mos Espa before losing himself in the crowd. He slowly made his way out of town. Journeying out of sight of the city, he watched carefully, making sure he was not followed.
He then summoned the Tempest. It appeared before him sleek and shiny. Entering the ship, he closed the hatch behind him before being greeted by SAM. "Hello Gavin, I am SAM. You have been accepted as captian of the Tempest. it is detected that you have 1 colony becon it is ready for deployment. Shall we use this now?"
"No, SAM, please prepare for departure." Gavin responded. He took a tour of the ship, and it looked much like it had in the game. A Nomad was parked in the cargo bay. The botany and engineering labs were ready to begin. Medway wad prepped, and the kitchen was stocked. He looked into the weapons storage and found an Omnitool, a set of Nexus armor, an M-11 Surpressor pistol, and an X5 Ghost assault rifle.
Gavin approached the cockpit and sat down in the pilots chair. "Sir, where is our first destination?" SAM asked.
"Hoth." Gavin announced. " When the ship entered hyperspace, Gavin looked through the data listed in the central computer. It was way more than he asked for. Blueprints for every weapon from Mass Effect 1, 2, 3, and Andromeda. As well as blueprints for the nomad, upgrades, armor, training programs, and ship designs, including the SR2 and Nexus/Ark Designs, everything. He could even recreate EDI as well as her robotic body from Mass Effect 3. All he needed were the materials and foe the larger items a base to build them from. The med bay was equipped to give him biotics. The ship even had ghost storm available, modified to send out 3 probes that would mimic his ship.
Gavin had a list of potential worlds to build his base of operations on. The first was Hoth, a desolate frozen world with vicious wildlife. Most technology would have a hard time on their but lucky for him Nexus tech was made from a variety of environments including extreme cold. He was also considering Bespin, Tython, Ahch-To, as well as a few worlds in wildspace.
Eventually, he would have more than one base, but that was far into the future, and he had to consider his choice wisely. Hoth being out of the way with nothing happening until the Galactic Civil War was a major contender in this. As he approached the planet, he put on his omni tool, grabbing his armor. A strange feeling began to tickle the back of his mind. Looking at the map, Gavin asked SAM to go to a certain point on the map and land. Landing outside of a well hidden cave, Gavin disembarked, heading into the cave.
After hours of slipping falling and exploring the cave, Gavin came across an icy blue crystal that seemed to freeze the air around it. Gavin held put his hand, and the crystal flew to him. He seemed to understand instinctively that this was the second crystal he had been searching for since he got his kyber crystal from Illum. Looking at the crystal, a memory surface from his previous life about a crystal that was only mentioned in 1 game and 1 book. "Permafrost crystal." He breathed, recognizing the rare crystal about which not much was known.
