"Have you chosen?" God asked.
Gavin nodded. "Yes sir, I have chosen. I would like my first teacher to be Meetra Surik." God nodded,"an acceptable if predictable choice."
With a flash of light, Meetra appeared before Gavin. "Greetings, Gavin, the one who summoned me here already spoke of what is being asked of me. I will teach you the lessons I have learned. First, though, why me there are others who are more powerful. Others who have never strayed from the light. I have much darkness and blood covers these hands I have fallen before why choose me."
Gavin thought before responding. "Your fall is why I chose you. After falling so far, you returned as a hero. You saved the order. You sought the true meaning of light instead of keeping to tradition. You know the horrors of war, and I can think of no one better to teach me to walk the path of light."
Surik nodded. "Very well, what do you want to learn?"
Gavin's Training began Meetra was a tough teacher who taught him to use his newly increased sensitivity to the force. Force techniques that were common. She then showed him battle meditation. She taught him history that had long been forgotten and stated her own philosophy.
Gavin asked her about the unifying force and the path of the Jedaii that were the predecessors to the Jedi Order. Already ancient history before Surik became a jedi, She was only able to tell a little about them. She had a warning, though. "Emotions are not your enemy. But remember, the dark side is poison. Embracing your darkness does not mean using it."
Gavin asked what she meant. She sighed. "I felt anger and hatred during my journey." She paused, remembering it. "I felt anger towards Atris, so set in her ways and beliefs that she helped the sith and fell to the dark side. I felt hate on Alderann when, after all I did, the counsel decided that killing me was the best course of action. I felt fear on Korriban when I confronted the ghost of Darth Malik in that cave."
Surik looked at Gavin, "We are mortal, to feel these things is a part of that. How can we claim to embrace life if we deny what makes us a part of it. The trick to mastering the unifying force is to recognize and embrace this. to understand that it is a part of life and nothing to be ashamed of. You can not truly love if you detach yourself. To deny these feelings does not get rid of them. You merely shove them down till you explode this is what happened to many jedi who fell to darkness in the Jedi Civil War."
She then went to speak of her being cut off from the force. By forging connections and caring about others, she was able to reconnect and rise to defeat Darth Nihlus before leaving to help Revan in the unknown regions.
Gavin learned everything he could from her, and Meetra was amazed by how hard working he was.
Eventually, the day came for her last lesson. "I journeyed into the Mandalorian Wars of my own accord. I went to stop the Manadlorians. My purpose was pure at first, but I lost myself in war. I was there at the devastation of Telos. I saw it and saw how far I had fallen." She paused, looking up as if seeing something in the far sky. "I do not regret the choices I made. I regret losing my way. It is so easy in war to take the easy way out. A Jedi must know when to draw their blade and when to sheath it. War makes that difficult beware the mistakes of the past."
Gavin thanks her for her guidance. Before leaving, she mentioned a set of 3 holocrons. As she described them, Gavin recognized them from the Old Republic game. The jedi Consolar had to find them on Coruscant. "I think they were destroyed during the time of the Sith Empire." He stated. Surik nodded. "Maybe the ones on Coruscant, but when the Jedi went into hiding, Atris kept a copy of all holocrons from the Jedi Archives in her temple on Telos. As far as I know, it has been sealed since her death."
With that as quickly as she appeared, she vanished.
