章節 25: Chapter 25: Hazing Fox

"Wait, so you mean the reason I'm so hungry all the time is because I have this ability and not because I'm poor?" Beel was trying his best to understand the situation but it was just difficult for him to wrap his head around. "Well, you being poor probably had some assistance in you being more hungry, but I had a similar situation as you growing up so I know the feeling of being more hungry than any one person can handle." Kinteth sympathized with his descendant as best as he could and Beel recognizing this calmed down slightly. "Wait if I have this ability and you had it as well, why didn't it show up when I participated in the Heroite? The machine said that I only have three of your abilities."

"Don't worry Beel this is the way that I wanted it. You see, if people knew about my ability then I had fear that should any of my descendants be discovered to have it then they might turn on them out of fear. I had this belief that if the majority of people saw this ability in use then they might just assume that me and my family were demons." Beel nodded since he grew up with the worst of the worst when it came to people so he knew just how judgmental they could get. "So I personally recommend that you do the same and keep this ability hidden from any one that you do not completely trust. It will make things better for you as time progresses and you can trust me in that."

"Of course I trust you. You're my ancestor and Kinteth Yenders so anyone crazy enough to not trust you would literally insane. Now, how do I use the ability I want to try to start getting stronger to defeat the demons as soon as possible!" Beel excitedly started to punch the air and jumped around like a little kid on his birthday. This sight brought a gentle smile to Kinteth's face. "Alright, Beel. Though activating the ability isn't the difficult part." Beel stopped moving and turned back to his ancestor. "What do you mean?"

"The difficult part is that you are going to need to hunt a creature first and then consume it as soon as possible. Though, from what I can see you've likely already eaten at least one in your life and you also seem quite talented so you should be able to handle it on your own." Beel's eyes started to shine. "Y-you said that I'm talented? Kinteth Yenders just said that I have talent!" Beel was trying his best not to run around shouting in his excited state by taking deep breathes and it eventually worked. "I won't let you down ancestor." Beel ran up and gave Kinteth a tight hug and Kinteth returned it with a warm embrace of his own. "Remember, Beel. No matter what dangers you go through or what trials you may have to overcome. As long as you believe in yourself and never fear your own potential, you will never have anything to worry about." With that Kinteth slowly faded away and Beel woke up in his new bedroom once again.

He climbed out of his bed and went into the training room. Within the training room there were some practice weapons that one could use based on their own preference. Beel grabbed one of the daggers and ran out of his room. He managed to find his way out of the door based on his memory of the layout of the mansion and went to the forest that was on the southern side of the city. He threw the hood of his cloak on and move as quickly as he could.

Beel could tell based on the lighting that it was most like just a few hours before sunrise and he wanted to do this and get back to the mansion before then. "I have to see if this really works. And no one else can know." After around an hour, he had arrived at a secret exit that he used to frequent when he went to look for food with his mother. It lead directly to the forest so he slipped his way through and left the city behind him.

Beel immediately started to look for some sort of sign that a monster was nearby. His mother had taught him the skills to avoid them so it was strange using them to track one. "These seem the most fresh, so there should be a monster if I go this way." Beel moved deeper into the forest and while making as little noise as possible and he eventually found his prey. It was a young fox with black fur. Beel slowly examined the surroundings to try to see if there were any other creatures but the fox seemed to be alone for the most part. Beel withdrew his dagger from its sheathe and went snuck up behind it.

'Now let's try to do this nice and easily. As long as it doesn't see me, I should be fine.' Beel crept closer and closer until he was just about behind the fox and reached out to grab it when it suddenly turned around, hissed at him, and a immediately a black cloud filled his vision. Though he could see Beel quickly reached out and grabbed the fox which seemed to have caught it be surprise somehow. He then took his dagger and stabbed the fox in its chest killing it almost instantly. Beel looked closely at the fox when he heard it.

"Growol." Beel looked down to his stomach and back to the fox. "I can't believe that I'm actually doing this." Beel used his dagger to cut out a relatively large chunk of meat from the fox and shoved it into his mouth. He was prepared for his body to instinctively vomit but the raw meat actually tasted better than he thought that it would. "How does it have a light sweetness to it? This is so weird." Beel removed the fur from the fox and went to go home when he felt it. A really warm and comfortable feeling entered his body. Beel didn't know what it was at first when he suddenly had discovered something.

"The fox's ability is known as Haze. I can now produce a thick smoke that can poison and paralyze my enemies." Beel started to jump he felt a lighter now and so he started to walk then jog then run and then finally he was taking off in a full sprint. He was moving fast. Faster than he had ever moved in his life then he jumped and made it onto a tree branch with just the leap. Beel stood in the tree and looked at his hands and then placed them onto his stomach. "You really are something amazing aren't you?" Beel's stomach rumbled like it was embarrassed from the compliment. "You know we've known each other for a long time, but you don't have a name." Beel's stomach growled in confusion. "Why do you need a name? I guess it's just so that we can be closer. But it has to be something unique." Beel placed his hand onto his chin as he thought when he came up with one.

"I've got it! I'm gonna call you Ezi. My mom used to say that she had a word for gluttons and that word was Ezlings which means bottomless. So from now on you are Ezi, Beel's Bottomless Stomach." Beel gently rubbed Ezi as it rumbled with excitement. "Lets go far far together, Ezi. With us on the watch there isn't gonna be a single demon that survives." Beel jumped out of the tree and ran back into the city and towards the mansion. The sun was due to be up soon and he had a lot of training and preparations that he wanted to do.
