"The weather?" the woman turned towards the window and saw that the Blaze had appeared in the sky once again. "I guess that it does look nice outside tod-." Lua turned back to Mill and suddenly realized who she was talking to. That person of course being a stranger that broke into her house and slept on her mattress.
"Wait a second! Who are you and why are you in here?" Lua stood up from the floor and pointed at Mill accusingly. "Did you come here to take away my home? Or maybe you were here waiting for me to get here so that you could attack me or do something uspeakable."
This was likely the most troublesome situation that Mill has ever ended up in. How would he explain to this woman his reason behind entering her house? In fact, Mill's biggest issue is that he had no real reason for entering her house other than looking for a place to sleep for the night.
"Look here, girl. I personally have no idea who you are and had no idea that anyone lived here. So what makes you think that I would come here for you?" Mill's answer was mostly honest. But he refused to tell the girl that he got so excited by seeing her that he flew into the wall at 100mph.
"Even if you didn't think anyone lived here you shouldn't have just walked into a random room and sleep in it. Are you homeless or something?" Lua pointed at Mill as she finished her statement.
"That's a cruel thing to say to someone that you just met. And look I have my own reasons for going to sleep here so get off my back already, girl." Mill responded quite passively to Lua's provocation and turned towards the door to leave.
"Of course I would be mean to someone that broke into my house and slept on my bed. That's the only logical way to react to something like that. And stop calling me girl! My name is Lua." Lua was tired of this guy's attitude. How could someone be so calm after sleeping in someone's house without permission.
"Look it sounds like the problem will be fixed once I leave. So I'll be going now, Ruka. I hope to never see you again." With that Mill swiftly left the Lua in her apartment all by herself.
"I hope I never see you again either, asshole." Lua stuck her tongue out at Mill after he had already left. "And my name is Lua!"
After he made it outside Mill released a sigh of relief. He was glad to have finally made it out of that situation. However, he knew that wasn't going to be the only woman that he would have to deal with today. In fact, there were two more seeing as he had to explain to his aunt and sister the reason he didn't return home yesterday.
Mill looked at the Blaze high in the sky he decided that he should wait until he cooldown from his interaction with Lua and headed towards the outside of the city.
"I should practice my newfound ability first. In a place where no one can bother me." With that Mill headed to the plains outside of the city.
…
Mill hadn't been out here since he had first moved to the city a few years ago. Back then he was going through a lot and couldn't take in the sights but now he could. It was probably one of the most beautiful places that he had ever seen. Of course, the sights weren't the reason that he had come out here.
"Now, time to get to work." Mill stood and tried to activate his ability, but ran into a problem. How does he activate an emotion based ability? In fact, what counts as an emotion in the case of the ability? Mill remembered the event from this morning more specifically the feeling that he had before he hit the wall of Lua's apartment. Mill let out a reluctant grunt.
"I can't stand that woman, but that's the only reference that I have so I guess I'll just try to replicate that situation." Mill took a deep breath and closed his eyes as he remembered how Lua looked. With her short, black hair. Her well portioned facial features and soft pale skin. And the two big mounds on her chest that could probably be used as a storage device.
The tingling feeling that Mill felt this morning returned and his body began to slightly shake. He also felt the lighting popping around him better than before. Mill slowly opened his eyes with a smirk on his face and looked at his hands. He concentrated for a second and manifested lighting into his palms.
"Looks like this really is part of my ability. Now I just need something to test this on." Mill looked around until he saw a large pack of wolves all crowded around something. Mill didn't know why they were in such a big group but that isn't what mattered. He turned towards them and got in position to throw the lighting from his palm.
"No offence wolves but I need a target." Mill pulled his arm back as far as he could and threw the lighting from his hand as hard as he could. With a loud crash the lighting hit the group of wolves scorched all of them. Mill honestly didn't expect for the effect to be that powerful and ran up to examine his work.
Mill closed the distance between him and the wolves at an incredibly fast speed and made to the incapacitated creatures in seconds. "This feels amazing!" Mill looked around at all of the charred wolf bodies when he saw a body that didn't quite fit.
"That doesn't look like a wolf. That definitely looks like a dude. Oh, fuck did I just kill somebody!" Mill started to panic which removed the tingly feeling and replacing it with one of something frantic and uncomfortable. In Mill's eyes the entire world went dark except for the body of the person that he just killed.
"Oh, fuck fuck fuck! Why did I just use my ability without thinking? I'm so stupid!" Mill then noticed his surroundings and immediately realized that this was probably due to his ability. "Calm down, Mill. You don't know that he's dead. Just check if he's alive and if he isn't flee the country."
Mill slowly crept up to the body kneeled down beside it. He pressed his ear to the man's chest and listened. He took deep breaths to calm himself down until he eventually heard a thump. He heard a few more and smile as now he would not have to flee the country for manslaughter.
"At least now I know that the ability for sure works and that it's powerful. With this I might be able to become an adventurer and defeat the ancient disaster if I make it stronger and learn to use it better.
Mill got up and walked away from the charred remains of the wolves when he heard something shuffling behind him. He turned around and the man waking up.
"Ugh. Who the hell has the balls to throw a bolt of lightning at someone like me." The man got off of the ground and saw all of the charred wolf courses around him and his face changed. "My brothers! They got you too. Whoever did this will pay if my name isn't Karl Quickwind!" Mill now noticed that the man was actually a wolf man as he now see a puffy tail coming out of his backside and a pair of ears pointing out from his long blue hair.
"Hey you!" Mill was busy analyzing the man so he didn't realize that he had finally noticed him and started to walk over. "Did you do this?" The man immediately accused Mill of the attack that hit him. Which Mill was the one that did so it made since, but it was still rude.
"What that? Yeah sure, what if I did do it? Why were you in the middle of a pack of wolves?" Mill didn't hide the fact that he launched the attack. Why would he need to do something like that in the first place.
"Well if you must know. I was recently in an issue of Newly Awakened magazine and just had to show my friends." The man pulled out a pristine issue of the magazine he mentioned and showed it to Mill. Mill looked at the front page and did indeed see the man that was standing in front of him/
"Wait. So your only friends are a group of wolves that can't talk?"
"Yeah. Why?"
"Dude, that's pretty sad." Mill said this, but let out a light chuckle.
"Oh yeah and how many friends do you have mister..."
"Mill. My name is Mill Kabrok and I actually have one really good friend." Mill stretched out his hand for the wolf man to shake it. Wolf man hesitated for a second and then firmly grabbed Mill hand.
"Karl Quickwind at your service and I guess I can let you off for attacking me this time seeing as only have one friend." Karl and Mill stared at each other for a second then burst into laughter.
"Well it looks like you might have just made it two, Karl." Karl was surprised by Mill's statement and started blushing slightly.
"And I guess you can be my first, Mill." Karl responded with a shy smile cause Mill to make a look of disgust.
"Never say it like that again man. It's really weird."
