章節 19: The Sanctuary of Radiance (2)

"Well done, my boy," he said, his voice filled with pride. "You have passed the first test."

"What was the first test?" he asked.

"The first test," the administrator said, "was to check your talent and adjust the difficulty of the dungeon accordingly. You see, I cannot let just anyone claim the inheritance of the 'Child of Light.' I must ensure that only the most worthy and talented can do so."

Derek nodded, understanding the importance of such a test. He had seen firsthand the dangers and difficulties of the dungeon, and he knew that not just anyone could survive it.

"And to my astonishment," the administrator continued, "your talent was the closest I have ever seen to that of the 'Child of Light' himself. You truly are a remarkable young man, with a bright future ahead of you."

The administrator looked at Derek with a sense of pride and respect. "You truly are a remarkable young man," he said.

"Your talent for the light element is unmatched, and I do not doubt that you will be able to claim the inheritance of the 'Child of Light.'"

Derek felt a surge of excitement at the administrator's words. He had come so far, fought so hard, and now he knew that he was on the cusp of achieving his greatest dream.

"And so," the administrator continued, "I have come up with only one test for you. It is a test that you must figure out for yourself, using your skill, your talent, and your intuition."

Derek felt a sense of trepidation wash over him. He had faced many challenges in the dungeon, but this was different.

This was something he could not prepare for, something he could not predict.

The administrator teleported both of them to an empty room. The room contained only a single dias and a ball emitting blinding light in it.

Derek looked around, trying to make sense of what he was seeing.

"This is the second test," the administrator said. "The contents of the test are yours to figure out. You must use your talent for the light element to decipher the secrets of this room, and claim the inheritance of the 'Child of Light.'"

As the administrator left the room, Derek was left alone inside it. He looked around, trying to make sense of what he was seeing. And then, a grin appeared on his face.

Everything had gone according to plan. The original Derek had used a huge amount of author points to create a body that was most compatible with the light element, just so he could claim the inheritance of the 'Child of Light.'

And to avoid suspicion, he had acted dumb in front of the administrator, pretending that he had no idea what was going on.

But now, all of his hard work, all of his planning, was about to pay off. He knew that this final test was the key to unlocking the secrets of the 'Child of Light,' and he was ready for it.

As Derek reached out and touched the ball of light, anticipation coursed through his veins.

But to his astonishment, as soon as his fingertips made contact, a surge of overwhelming energy engulfed him, causing him to wince in surprise and confusion.

"What's going on?" Derek's mind raced with uncertainty. This was not at all what he had expected from claiming the inheritance of the Child of Light.

He had planned to harness the power, to become a conduit for celestial might, but now something entirely unforeseen was unfolding before him.

As he struggled to comprehend the situation, he felt an inexplicable force pulling at his very essence.

It was as if his soul was being drawn towards the radiant ball of light, uncontrollably being absorbed into it.

Panic and fear gripped him as he tried to resist, but the power was too overwhelming, like an unyielding cosmic current pulling him inexorably inward.

"This wasn't supposed to happen!" Derek's thoughts screamed as he fought against the unexpected force.

His heart pounded in his chest, and a sense of helplessness washed over him.

The ball of light seemed to take on a life of its own, its brilliance intensifying as it absorbed his soul.

As Derek's consciousness floated through the vast cosmos, he was surrounded by a breathtakingly beautiful landscape of stars, galaxies, and nebulae.

The darkness was punctuated by the light of countless stars, each one shining like a beacon in the void.

He could see galaxies stretching out before him, vast and awe-inspiring, each one a swirling mass of stars and gas and dust.

And in between the galaxies, there were clouds of gas and dust, illuminated by the light of nearby stars.

The colours were breathtaking, ranging from deep blues and purples to vibrant pinks and reds.

Derek felt as if he was floating through a painting, a masterpiece of cosmic art that was beyond his wildest dreams.

The silence was deafening, broken only by the occasional sound of cosmic radiation or the distant hum of a star.

Derek felt as if he was the only person in the universe, alone in the vast expanse of space.

As Derek's unconscious body lay still on the ground, a hazy figure materialized beside him.

The figure's form seemed ethereal, with translucent outlines that shifted and swirled like mist.

It reached out, its hazy hand gently caressing Derek's face as if cradling a cherished memory.

The face of the figure became slightly visible, revealing crystal-clear eyes that held a mixture of fondness and determination.

Despite Derek's unconscious state, he seemed to sense the presence of the hazy figure on some subconscious level.

The hazy figure leaned over Derek, tears forming in its translucent eyes. "Big Brother," it said in a trembling voice. "I've finally found you again after all these years."

The figure wept softly. "It's me from our past life on Earth."

"Do you remember playing with me under the tree, laughing together?" the figure said wistfully.

"We made a promise to find each other in our next lives, so we could fulfil our purpose together in the great cosmic plan."

The figure spoke gently as if hoping some part of Derek could still hear his words. "It seems that purpose has brought us here, to this place beyond Earth."

The figure reached out a hazy hand, caressing Derek's still face. "When you awaken, Big Brother, I will be here. We will embark on this new journey, just as we promised so long ago."

The figure remained by Derek's side, keeping a silent vigil. Though Derek's physical form lay motionless, the figure's presence spoke of a bond that transcended lifetimes, a connection deeper than words.

"Rest now, Big Brother," the figure said tenderly. "Our work is just beginning."
