Sam tortured John but for some reason, John seemed to bite his tongue the moment he knew that he was with Bella.

This was a different type of resolve, one that Sam hadn't seen previously but he wondered why John was so dedicated to keeping this information to himself.

Sam knew that there was a lot he was missing and he had to get to the bottom of it before it was too late but if he did too much, then there was a chance that John would go into shock.

Sam didn't know if John's partner was the one he was referring to, these were clearly the people that Bella had spoken about.

One was dead, the other was captured so Sam was expecting one more person, he knew that if they were as skilled as either Max or John then he had nothing to worry about.

Sam sat on the bed, looking at the bloodied John, who was passed out, lost in thought.
